I was happy to learn that an upgrade had been released for my prior baby monitor by DBPower. Overall while I was satisfied with the prior version, this version has some significant improvements that makes it the ideal baby monitor. In my opinion, these are the best features of this monitor: + big screen with wide-angle view; good clarity in dark or light settings (big improvement over prior version) + ability to add additional cameras and see them on one screen (default screen is a rotating view of sync'ed cameras, then one screen for each sync'ed camera, then final screen is up to 4 cameras on one screen) + micro-USB power cords (with adapters) for both the camera and monitor - no hassling with odd sized cylindrical adapters + temperature alert if the room's temperature exceeds an upper or lower limit + not WiFi based so it can travel anywhere you go (may be a downside for those who want to check in on their kids from wherever they are) A few changes from the prior monitor that are great: + brighter and clearer images on larger monitor screen + no more exterior buttons for night light and lullabies - I was always hitting these by accident and then scrambling to turn them off so as not to wake my kids + micro-USB charging instead a cylindrical adapter + feeding schedule alarm - not useful at the moment as my kids are sleeping through the night, but I could see this being handy Bottom line: This is the best monitor and camera and you should buy it. One expected downside is that you'll need to buy additional cameras if you want them. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We have the older version and love this baby monitor brand! So many awesome features on the new model/ version we just bought! I'm overly impressed with the picture quality in both day and night! 360 camera view, easy maneuvering through buttons AND menu options. I'm definitely sold on the new model and will be looking into additional cameras for it to replace our old model setup :) Love that it has a sleep timer on it as well - that blacks out the screen after inactivity (custom set) so that the screen light doesn't light up our bedroom all night (like old model). Monitor size is a bit bigger, but its sturdy and I dont have to tilt it up/a certain way to view the picture better/view (like old model). See pictures 5-7 for reference (if I'm laying in bed and trying to look up and view from my pillow) "Zoom in" on new model, zooms in centered and not way off center like old model (see my short video for example). The picture clarity is amazing! Haven't played with lullaby feature or feeding feature, as I don't need those features. The button "clicking" sound (when monitor buttons are pushed) is kinda loud (louder than old model) but shouldn't be too bad. ... show more

I just received it so I haven't used it long. The video seems very good although I haven't had a chance to see IR yet. I also really like how silent the camera is when it moves. The range so far seems okay. I will be testing it further when we go on vacation in two weeks (that's what I bought it for) and I will update my review then. Update: Cons: The range definitely isn’t the best and to me falls very short of their advertisement. Our friends we’re about 200-300 ft from our room and the camera would work about 3/4 of the way there so it wasn’t even useful for the whole reason I bought it. The lullabies on it aren’t bad but I think we had only one we could use. Pros: The battery on the monitor I thought lasted a long time. I read about monitors only lasting four hours or so but this definitely lasts longer than that. I didn’t even plug it in every night. The picture quality was pretty good. I don’t think it was a good as my owelet but it wasn’t bad. In the end I’m returning it to get one that better suites my needs and spending the little extra money to get one that works with or without Wi-Fi so I have the option. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Our grandchildren love to play outside, but we have never been comfortable not watching them when we need to go inside go inside to fix a meal or snack. They sometimes play outside until after dark in the summer. The DBPower Baby Monitor allows us to monitor the entire backyard and deck. Night vision is surprisingly clear. While inside, we can watch our grandchildren in other rooms. By adding additional cameras, we could cover all of their play areas. My thoughts: • The 5” LCD screen is impressive. Even though I had read reviews describing the crisp, image clarity of the screen, I was pleasantly surprised. • Night Vision has obviously improved as the last baby monitor I saw displayed black & white, over saturated close ups and under saturated night video. In the night images I’m posting from my backyard, the DBPower Baby Monitor provides amazing clarity and color just using a neighbors outside light. • Room Temperature Monitoring, while a great feature for a baby’s room, was a feature I didn’t foresee using. However, while observing my grandchildren with the camera on my deck, the setting is flexible to set high and low temperature parameters and alert me that they need to come inside. • The 330° camera panning range covers a full 360 degrees. Along with the 110° tilt of the camera, we can monitor the the entire deck & yard • 2X Zoom permits a close look at what they are doing. • The unit also comes with Two-Way Audio, Lullabies, and a Feeding Reminder. • There is no internet involved so you never worry about a risk of being hacked or spied on. • The Unit boasts up to a 900ft range (unobstructed); that’s three football fields. I walked to the farthest corners of our backyard and continued to have full control of the camera with a crystal clear image. I drove 680ft down our street before the out of range alarm sounded—remember that was inside a metal car positioned on my cell phone holder. • Up to 4 cameras can be supported, greatly increasing the monitoring area. • The remote specs list 5 hours for video and 8 hours for audio only, supported by a 2400mAh rechargeable battery. • Easy Setup With the much improved image quality, I can imagine wanting the opportunity to record and share with my family. In my opinion a micro SD card in the camera unit would be a nice upgrade. We are very happy with this monitor and know it will bring us a new level of comfort concerning our grandchildren. ... show more
