My husband picked up a couple of records recently, having never had any before. I used to have a small collection and a record player, but got rid of them several years ago before a move. Since I'm not sure if he'll really get into records or not, I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a record player, but at the same time I didn't want to get one that was so cheap that it ruined the experience. This record player fits the bill. It is small, easy to store when not being used, and has surprisingly good sound with the built-in speakers. We purchased this to have on hand to play our vinyl collection so we wouldn't have to take our stereo out of storage. This is a great little record player. Easy to set up and use. The record player did not arrive with a power adapter. I had to co tact customer.service in order to procure the proper power adapter. After receiving the power adapter, the record player could be powered on and tested. Records sound ok on this, but very high in treble. I got this as a Christmas gift for my parents who have a decent record collection but havenโ€™t owned a record player in ages! The outer design is super cute and I love the different color options, and the overall size is just right, not to big, not too small. Setup was very easy. The design of the mechanism itself is simple to use and seems to work really well with both the smaller 45s and the larger standard sized records that we tried with it. It has settings for 3 different types of records. The sound quality for both the actual records and the Bluetooth option were excellent, but is not overly bassy. The volume is more than loud enough to enjoy listening to in the same room or from another. Overall we had SUCH a nice time listening to old records and making new memories with this Victrola, and I highly recommend this product for folks of all ages looking for an affordable and easy way to listen to their records! ... show more

I bought this record player specifically because of the red black (buffalo plaid) color scheme. It worked fine even though it would take a second or two to power on. After I had it for four months, I moved it from my bedroom to the living room and it would no longer power up. I checked amazon and it me to go to Victrola for help. They can't get me a refund or apparently fix it since I bought it was technically used. Even though I believed I bought an "open-box" item. I'm very unhappy with both amazon and Victrola. Don't buy a Victrola player used. Don't buy a Victrola player period. ... show more
