This was a birthday gift for my 12 year old granddaughter. It was high on her wish list, and didn't disappoint! From my perspective, the quality is excellent, it is well made, colorful, and sturdy. From her perspective, it is easy to use, and she loves the fact she can stream music to it AND play vinyl records. The speakers work very well. The sound quality is quite good and you can turn it way up. I would consider it "easy for beginners", because she is 12 years old, and has no trouble streaming from her phone or using it for vinyl. Great nostalgic looking piece of equipment. It arrived and I realized I didn’t have any vinyl to play so it sat for a couple weeks and looked awesome! My records arrived and the audio sounds like it’s playing out of a tin can, a great looking, hi-fi tin can. There are right and left RCA jacks on the back so I’ll look into a different output solution. Update 4/13/21: Back with an update and a fourth and fifth star. For the audiophiles, it got a 4th star with me doing some leg work and investing. It has small rubber feet on the carousel but I invested in a real slip mat, RCA cables, a small two-channel tripath amp and some speakers (I butchered a small unit I have for the speakers so no cost). If you already have these you're good to go and this is going to work for you. The sound was good but the needle was skipping like crazy. I'm talking on every album used or new. The 5th star came about 45 minutes in when I remembered what we used to do when I was a kid and got myself a fat shiny quarter and put it on the arm. It's a friggin' record player! Reminded me that there are still some analog solutions out there. Audio is great and it works nicely for the price I paid. ... show more

The color of the wood is just like in the picture, the sound quality is nice and you really do get your moneys worth. It’s also easy to use but it is smaller than expected but it’s the size of those ones u would see at target or Walmart. Our kids in their 20's & 30's bought this for my husband for Fathers Day. My daughter had asked my oppinion, & I was like, oaawwwhh, the speakers will probably be tinny, low quality, just a trendy gift probably not worth it! My husband will think its a waste of money, He's very practical...our adult kids bought it anyway! All that I thought was completely wrong! It's adorable, like the portable size we had in the 60's & 70's. We love it! Brings back the days of sitting near a turntable listening to records over & over, changing them out , listening to faves etc. It's the whole experience. The speakers were sharp & incredibly good, unlike the old portables and the volume filled the room! We played my husband's ABBA albums first & It took only minutes for the dance moves to begin! Great time and we'll be going through some of those old ABBA, BEATLES< SHA-NA-NA, Joni Mitchel, James Taylor and more. I like that you can plug it into a stereo. Plays all my records. Has been working since I’ve purchased. Have played over 300 records both sides full length. Should have ordered a plain black color but I still like it.

Listen, I've done the research. I know these cheap players 'damage your records faster', etc. But I think this is well worth it. Honestly, from the way YouTube reviewers described these players, I was worried my records would sound terrible. But they sound great. Keep in mind, I'm new to vinyl. But playing a new record, the sound was extremely clean and sounded like I just played a song from Spotify. My dad gave me all his old records, and some of them are gross and mucky. And after cleaning them, they still sound pretty good. All old records will have some crackling fuzz when you play them. That's the beauty of vinyl. I also think this particular model is just really nice. Maybe I got lucky, and my player just works really well, but I tried out my friends Victrola player too, and It's kind of terrible. I think it was a cheaper one, to be fair. But the difference was astounding. I highly recommend this player. It works well, and it's pretty too. Great for the price. ... show more

My sister is a big Def Leppard fan so I bought this for her. I found an 11" Def Leppard vinyl sticker on eBay and put it on the lid. She loved it! I also bought her Def Lep's 3rd vinyl box set.
