Instead, I got this set, because I get a steak knife out of it plus a flat edge paring knife that has a better feel in hand peeling than a curved paring blade. Also it's my bread knife, especially bagels. I don't need a 10" bread knife for a bagel. The steel is classic Victorinox x55, which is much better than the cheaper Mercers that use X30Cr13. ..but really sharp. So watch your fingers. An inexpensive set with great quality, I just have to remember to wear a cutting glove when I use them. Buy it for the tomato knife alone - you won’t regret it! It cuts through tomatoes like butter. I also recommend buying knife sheaths. A 4 inch knife sheath fits all of the knives. It will keep your knives sharp, and your fingers safe when you reach in the drawer. ... show more

These are generally paring knives. They work well for small tasks. A bit expensive compared to other brands. Time will tell if they are worth the added expense.
