  • Favorite stick for me
Style: Ride Stick
I've bought and tried about ten different kinds of sticks over the years. These win. I mainly play in my home, so I've always tried to play with more finesse than power. As many have said, these sticks have better rebound than anything I've ever used. The head isn't heavy, but also not so thin you feel like they are going to break if you are playing a bit loud. They are probably not the most durable sticks, but they are not meant for heavy music. But feel, weight, rebound - it's a perfect stick. At least worth a try if you are curious. ... show more

  • first rate quality....
Style: Ride Stick
These stick feel good in my hands - well balanced, with appropriate weight and length. Of course, deferent drummers need different sticks according to the size of their hands and physical strength. Very young students may find them a bit much but most adult drummers should be well pleased with these stick... Vic Firth was a good man/percussionist and fronted a great stick company. ... show more

  • Probably my favorite sticks
Style: Ride Stick
This is a fantastic drumstick. The long taper and back-heavy feel contribute to the best rebound I've ever felt in a stick. The shape of the tip lends a very articulate, delicate sound to cymbals, particularly the ride. If you're like me and enjoy playing intricate sticking patterns on the ride but don't want the wash of the cymbal to muddy things up, this tip is great. Drums and cymbals are inherently quite loud instruments, so you really don't need to beat them senseless to achieve volume, but it goes without saying that these relatively light sticks wouldn't hold up in an extreme metal scenario. However, I don't find them to be too light to be versatile, as is the case with a stick like the Regal Tip Jazz. Another great stick, but only useful for very light playing. I don't play strictly jazz, but I love the light feel and delicate tips because they give me a greater degree of dynamics control. I can play very quietly, but also lay into it and not feel like I'm doing all the work. If I really need a fat, thick sound, I can always flip them around and play the butt-ends. In short, a great pair of sticks with excellent rebound and a clear, articulate sound. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Best stick around and not just for Jazz.
Style: Ride Stick
I am a professional drummer and use these sticks in the main band I play for. We play a mix of rock blues and reggae. I choose to give these a go for a couple of reasons. I've been a regular vic firth 5a guy for years now but they are a l little too big for smaller gigs where I have to be mindful of my volume, and i've always been running on fumes by the end of my gigs. I tried these sticks a while back and remembered how much I liked the feel so I decided to give them another try. Well after playing a couple of gigs with these sticks, i'm blown away. They are a perfect blend of weight, balance and feel. Not too big, and not too small. I can be way more dynamic with my playing, and feel way more in control. To top it off they are holding up better than any of the 5a sticks I've ever bought. No splitting or breaking and i'm a heavy hitter. (grew up playing metal). I'm sure that these sticks are great for jazz music, but If you play other styles of music besides jazz you owe it to yourself to give these a try. Fly high Vic Firth, and thank you for your great sticks. ... show more

  • Some of the best sticks Vic Firth offers!
Style: Ride Stick
These sticks are, by far, the most reliable and high quality sticks I have ever used to play drum set! They give such a sweet, fantastic sound from your cymbals, have a great balance and feel in your hands, and are strong! I will be buying these more in the future!

  • Makes any cymbal sound better, and enhances with age.
Style: Ride Stick
These are my go-to for jazz playing. The gentle tip makes any ride cymbal sound so much better, and the extra length really helps with rebound. The tips have a great smooth cymbal sound once you break them in a bit, so give it like a week and they’ll sound amazing. They might look thick but are surprisingly light for their thickness and length, and are very ideal for playing of all dynamics, and will even use them when I need to play at my most gentle, as the extra size gives you excellent control of the stick. ... show more

  • Sticks play so smooth you won’t be able to feel the beat in your hands
Style: Ride Stick
These sticks feel so good to play on any surface that you gotta have the music completely internalized. You won’t get a lot of feedback from them. Made by the jazz master Peter Erskine so this is to be expected. Wouldn’t recommend for beginners, but great for advanced players who need a light stick.

  • Great Sticks
Style: Ride Stick
My husband plays drums at church, he exclusively buys these drum sticks. They sound and feel great. The 4 star rating is due to the fact that they don't last very long. I'm not an expert but we seem to go through them quickly.
