I purchased my first Vibrastrait vibrating flat iron almost 11 years ago. Although it still works, I fear it doesn’t have much life left. I purchased the exact same brand from Amazon. I will never use any other brand. This flat iron is AMAZING!! I have the thickest most unruly hair. Some of my hair is wavy, some is curly and a small section is stick straight. I rely on a flat iron every single day. I know the experts say it is not good to apply that kind of heat to your hair every day, but I have no choice. This flat iron does the job!! This is my favorite flat iron. It’s great for curly/coarse hair if you turn the temperature up to at least 430F. My first one finally died in Ireland due to bad wiring of the converter box & was probably close to 10 years old. Bought the same one (this purchase) as a replacement and it works great—just don’t bring it to Europe with you! ... show more

This is not the first Vibrastrait that I have owned. The first ones I bought were under the original Brocato name. Each one I have bought has lasted 3-4 years, (one broke when I stepped on it and the other two eventually stopped holding temperature very long), and I hope this one does too. That being said, the last flat iron I bought before this recent purchase was a top of the line Bablyiss. In comparison, both are both great products. What I love moe about the Vibrastrait is that it glides easier through hair, it’s made in a way that lessens the chance of accidentally burning the side of your hairline, your neck, or ears, (admit it, if you regularly straighten your hair, you’ve probably done this at least a couple of times) with the edges of the iron, and it takes less passes to get the job done. I have thick, long, coarse hair, and use a lot of heat treatment sprays such as Virtue Smooth or Redken One United when damp, followed by heat resistant, smoothing and straightening spray once dry such as IGK Good Behavior, Drybar Liquid Glass, or Drybar Hot Toddy, (I often switch products every week or two), and the iron doesn’t become sticky or build up on the iron like some others on the market,(in all fairness, it didn’t build up on the Babyliss, either). The Vibrastrait also has an auto shut off, which is a great safety feature that Babyliss doesn’t have, and cools down a bit quicker. The one’s I’ve owned, including this one, are 1 3/4” wide, which is hard to find in any brand. The vibrating function evenly distributed the heat which I assume is why it takes less passes to get the job done, which is great because I’m usually playing near the clock to get to finish up and work in the morning. Both can be used to straighten, add a subtle curve or curl. One last thing that I’ve found interesting that some may or may not find important - I always place my irons on a folded hand towel to cool once I’m finished, and the Vibrastrait doesn’t leave the rust color V shaped scorch marks on the towel like the Babyliss has.     • Not bad for the price, but a few design flaws

I've been using a Bio Ionic with vibrating plates for years. Loved that thing, but it's time to replace it and the price is sky high. This one here by Vibrastrait was worth a shot and much cheaper, although still pretty costly. My thoughts are that this version of the flat iron is decent. I will keep it, but it doesn't compete with the Bio Ionic 10x for a few reasons. The plates of the Vibrastrait do not come together evenly and require a lot of pressure to come together at all. So if you're trying to do fine sections of hair, you will really have to press. To me that's a design flaw and defeats the purpose of the vibration if you're really squeezing on the hair. Also, the plates are pretty short, so now we're talking having to do narrower sections of hair to keep contact with the plates. I like to use my flat iron to curl in some beach waves and it wasn't as easy with this device. One thing I do really like about this model is it's ability to lay on the counter on it's back, keeping super hot edges away from the bathroom counter. The shorter stature of it make it better as a travel iron. It does heat up quickly alhough the number display is confusing when the numbers jump up and down, up and down and then finally settle on your temp. What the heck? ... show more

I LOVE this flat iron!! My hairstylist used the Bioionic straightener on me at the salon and I was infatuated with it, until I saw the price. I found this one on Amazon and liked the price a lot better! I use this almost daily. It does a fabulous job on my thick, wavy hair.

I love how this straightener works. However it stopped working properly within 6 months. I purchased a second one I liked it so much. I then noticed the product has a three year warranty . I followed the warranty instruction on the box and shipped it and paid for shipping. About three weeks later the Box returned to me stating the company closed and no longer there. I call amazon and after an awful experience of trying to speak to someone (not a bot). I finally get someone. All I wanted was the new address - because this company still exists I just purchased a second one. The rep was a bit clueless and didn’t understand. Finally she said she’s do a one tome excoetion for me. That wasn’t what I asked for - but I was wore down by the process. However it’s been well over a month and NO credit has been applied to my account. Sooooo frustrating. Apparently I need to let this $90 defective purchase go or I need to find a two hour window of time to try to get someone at amazon. What a pain. The saga continues …. the second one also stopped working within 5 months. emailed the company on their website weeks ago …. no response. Left a voicemail & another email 10/09/18. Let's see if anyone responds … too bad - the flat iron is so nice & doesn't burn or pull your hair. Its too bad it fails to last & the company's response is sooooo slow. ... show more
