I had a old miter saw that someone gave me long ago and it was pretty beat up and not accurate and did not have a double bevel capability. This Vevor compound miter saw is extremely impressive! My test cuts were perfectly straight at 90 degrees. The sliding action was super smooth and actually slid on it's own backward because my work bench is not completely level which I had no idea. I purchased due to the dual bevel tilting head which I need to build the angled roofs on my hexagon bird feeders. I have many new tools but this is the Jewel of them all. I thought it might come with a laser light but it only has led light which is fine with me since I am a master woodworker :) .

I am giving the saw 5 stars as it is amazing and has worked very well for me to cut down dimensional lumber as well as to make multiple even cuts to make planters and door trims. I love the fact that it has the shadow light to be able to accurately see where the blade will be. It is very lightweight for the size and I find that even though it is a corded saw it can be very portable even with its massive size. The one negative is that getting this delivered was a pain as I had to go to my local post office as they said it was too heavy for the carrier to deliver. Amazon needs better shipping partners.

I should have known better - you get what you pay for... Not square - to the table or the fence. It'll do in a pinch, but not at all the quality one needs to do professional work. Rotating the table feels like your grinding sand - shouldn't have to pull out a square to adjust saw for every change in cut - just should have sprung for a name brand.

I recently bought a Vevor miter gauge for my tablesaw and am (still) very impressed with it. So in choosing a new sliding miter saw I decided to go with Vevor again. Not a good decision. Here’s why: The Good: -- the cutting angles - 90° - 45° - are all right on. -- The saw is light enough so that an old man like me can still carry it -- It comes with a Vevor 60 tooth blade that seems to cut smoothly The Bad: -- This $233 saw comes with a manual that’s absolutely useless. Blurry microscopic pictures. Part reference #‘s are called out in the text that don’t exist in the tiny pics. The “instructions” for doing a bevel cut don’t even mention that you MUST move the fence sideways or you’ll cut the end of the fence off! There’s one adjustment knob that I have no idea what it’s function is and an extra? threaded rod with a handle that doesn’t seem to fit anywhere. Contains almost no useful info at all! -- The “shadow” light is useless. Dim, blurry & doesn’t line up with the actual cut line - partly because: -- If you attempt to line up the tooth of the blade statically to your mark on the board (before you pull the trigger) and assume that it will cut on that line when you turn the saw on then prepare to be disappointed because the dynamic position is likely to be 1/32” or more from that position. So, unlike my tablesaw, the only way to “line up” the blade accurately is with it spinning - by trial & error. On every single cut! -- The hub that controls the blade guard needs to be moved out of the way to install or change the blade but the process is pretty Mickey Mouse. Also there’s no way to lock the blade guard out of the way for this during this process so you’ll have to rig something up. The spindle lock button (used during a blade change) is down in a hole when depressed and so requires another tool to hold while you’re tightening or loosening the blade retainer screw. Better design would be to have the button sticking out enough so you could just use your finger. -- The angle scale at the back of the saw is poor. The markings for commonly use angles - 30°, 45° - aren’t distinctive - it’s all just a band of faint lines. -- I unfortunately overlooked that fact that the saw doesn’t have “soft start” control. (my fault) Be carful when pulling the trigger as the saw really jumps. -- Want to cut a 1/2" dado into the flat side of 2 x 4? Well guess what? The depth-of-cut adjustment screw isn't long enough! You'll have to take off the lock ring for the screw and then you can get the right depth (but the screw isn't locked now and it'll turn by itself!) So if you just need to cut a bunch of boards in half this saw will do it. But if you’re looking for a machine thats well thought out then I recommend you keep looking.
