I've contacted the seller to see if there's a resolution. The "emergency" keys, the ones required to open the safe and set your combination, are made of plastic. Both arrived warped, one quite badly and neither one will fit in the lock. So right now, the safe is useless. The box itself, while a bit bigger than I pictured, is otherwise as expected - metal, thin sides, but will get the job done. If I can open it. And trust the emergency key to function!

The walls are thin and the safe is on the lighter weight. I could not bolt it to a concrete floor; hence, it seems less secured over a rug. Also, only three holes for screws on the bottom. There should be additional holes to make it less likely to be picked up. At the same time, setting it up was simple. The key and combination lock give a great flexibility.

This depository lock box is protecting papers from identity theft prior to pickup for shredding. If it's bolted and not overflowing, safety is reasonable; it mostly prevents a passive casual walk-by "grab" of miscellaneous but confidential papers. The generously-sized "drawer"-style drop accepts labeled empty medication bottles as well, as it's a good reasonably safe storage place prior inking over the labels. It can also pass reasonable security efforts for locked containment and chain of custody when monitored and not accessed. (Refer to your exact requirements.) I would not trust this alone for extended periods, or unsurveilled with cash or jewelry, since it would be priable with little time and preparation or, simply, improvisation. More expensive depository safes have dual custody locks for some accountability during pickup, much thicker walls, and tighter construction necessary for cash and jewelry, etc. In general, the more expensive the item(s), the more expensive comparable security will be. Also, any drop-box is susceptible to anything (destructive or otherwise unintended) that can be "dropped" in. As a temporary holding place for papers prior to shredding... perfect.

The item I purchased is the item I received, but when I opened it, the item was disheveled (pieces of fabric sticking out of it) and had handprints all over the front of it. There was no plastic protective cover on the keypad as the instructions indicated. It is obvious that the item I received was not new and unused. I expected new.
