This does everything I need it to do and then some. They don't have a lot of the add-ons the expensive ones have like position dials but I use a yellow wax carpenter's marker that can be cleaned off easily to mark starting position. I love how it rolls braided and twisted wire, and mills pieces down to a smaller gauge so I can get a 20g backplate and a 26g bevel out of one piece of plate. Adding textures is fun too. I believe if this mill is treated as a light duty tool (and not a workhorse that can roll anything down with one pass) it will last for years. ... show more

I bought this mill knowing it was lower quality and may not have a long life. But it dont event work well from the beginning. My first mill did work for about 10 days and then i had the barring blow out but that was a symptom of the design, The upper roller, the one that moves to adjust the mill, had only downward force from the adjustment screws and only week compression springs to push the roller back up when you adjust the hight. This is a issue because the outside rollers the D or half round mill part is like a teeter toter because the compression spring is not strong enough to hold the other end in place as pressure is applied to it causing the barrings to get wrenched out of alignment and eventually fail do to stress. I was able to return and get a replacement. Now my second my mill is still kinda working but only used it for maybe a day but i had been busy so i didnt use it till well after the return daye was passed. Now i am trying to find some compression springs that work for replacements and a way to secure the adjustment screws to the top roller so the screw itself holds the roller level when using the outside D section. Im going to modify the crap out of this thing and see what is possible. But if your not in my nightmare do yourself a favor save up and by a more expensive mill. This one will maybe get you through one project if you baby it, but you’re project is going to be inconsistent thickness on sheets and terrible D sections with the square press making the mill have horizontal pressure against the barrings pushing them out slowly. This this is a joke and dose not work! ... show more

Can squish metal very flat very easily. Rollers are not mirror perfect so it will leave a little line pattern behind. I've used it with copper and brass, haven't tried mild steel yet.

Waited a couple months to write this an seriously couldn’t be happier with how this purchase turned out. Wanted a press but something cheap to dip my toes and it has functioned great even with daily use.
