  • Great value
Pattern Name: BUILDING_MATERIAL Style: 52CC
Comparable to the one sold by Harbor Freight, but much cheaper. Will power quickly through sand, loam and clay. Works in rocky ground too, but you need to go slow. If you encounter a large embeded stone at full speed it will tear the handles right out of your hands. Sometimes you can apply light throttle pressure when you encounter a rock, lift up and jerk the rock loose, but use caution. One more thing, the bulb attached to the carb is a purge bulb (similar to a chain saw) not a primer. Pump this until there are no bubbles in the return line, then choke and start if cold. Once the engine is warm, it will start easily on first pull. ... show more

  • Works
Pattern Name: BUILDING_MATERIAL Style: 52CC
It performs good for home use but is not industrial grade... Not intended for heavy use. I used it for planting bushes and shrubs. For the money it has performed well and started very easy.

  • Not functional!
Pattern Name: BUILDING_MATERIAL Style: 52CC
The throttle lever was so flimsy that it snapped off the first time I tried to start the auger. The cord that starts the engine is angled away from the throttle, which makes it difficult to start--and I never did get it started. Also, the fuel bulb is inaccessible. The instructions don't even mention the fuel bulb as part of starting the engine. How many times to press it? Also, for some reason a spark plug was included separately. Why? To install or as an extra? The instructions don't say, and they don't say how to install it either. I tried returning mine for a refund, but Amazon won't take it back because it uses gasoline, and the manufacturer (Vevor) flat out has refused to refund it also. I'm out $175! ... show more

  • unbelivable performance for the price!
Pattern Name: BUILDING_MATERIAL Style: 52CC
This post hole digger is well worth the price. It has a lot of power enough to dig hard clay soil, but you need to have a good stable stand otherwise it will jerk you because of its power. I used the 10" bit to dig 30" deep. It is amazingly fast and easy to use. The best part is the Seller is extremely customer caring and took care of my problem very quickly. ... show more

  • Does the job
Pattern Name: BUILDING_MATERIAL Style: 52CC
I was skeptical but it dug enough holes to pay for itself and still pulls with one or two starts so very good buy for the money.

  • Fine for the price
Pattern Name: BUILDING_MATERIAL Style: 52CC
I dig this auger (pun intended). It is a barebones setup - put in gas, prime, pull the cord, and you're in business. The small engine is pretty powerful and well geared for the task of digging straight into the ground. I threw the 6 in diameter blade on it and went to down digging post holes, installing mailboxes, and other 6 inch diameter hole tasks. For 160 bucks, you really can't do much better. 4 stars instead of 5 because they should absolutely warn you that if the blade of the auger gets stuck you're going for a ride. ...found that one out the hard way. ... show more
