Having read the reviews before purchase, I decided to order anyway. The product was well packed, no issues as far as that goes. Yes there was a bit of grease on the screws, but that is going to help with friction. Why people are having to put there hands on them I don’t understand. It could use more rubber washers and possibly guides as it clangs a bit, but nothing really to be irritated by. As far what I received, a well built press for a great price when compared to the other options.

This product is perfect and the customer service is exceptional. I had an issue with delivery because my local FedEx sucks and they couldn't find my package at first. However, customer service went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied and I would purchase from them again anytime. If you're looking for a paper press,I highly suggest getting this one. Not only is it there best baby for your buck, and works great, but customer service is exceptional.

I made it 4 stars because of the very very heavy weight, which makes it difficult for someone my size to move and the press is a little wobbly so I have to guide the too down. The machine itself exerts excellent pressure. My books get so tight they're almost a solid pieces of wood again. Its easy to use with the single handle on top, spinning is quick and efficient.

My son-in-law does handcrafted leather work and used this to press designs into leather. He said it was really well made and heavy duty enough to handle the leather. He is really happy about the quality, which means I am too.

This thing works, firstly, and it works quite well. The negatives all come from the fit and finish. The screw itself is super fine pitch, so it takes 7 years to open and close it fully. NBD, but it's also super rough and crunchy, so the press racks and binds as it closes. I took mine apart, and added ample white lithium grease to the screw socket, which helped a ton, but it shouldn't be needed. I'm tired of buying tools that require work to get them even functional, and this is no different. Again, it works, but it is CRUNCHY. EDIT 2022: the top support bar failed. There's a reason these were made heavy back in the day, and the use of c channel makes this press NO GOOD!

Well constructed and can be disassembled for cleaning or modifications. I removed the back retaining plate with an Allen wrench so that I could place larger paper stock in it. I'm using it for embossing purposes and it applies plenty of pressure for this purpose. Well worth the price.
