This mag drill was actually better than I expected. That being said, the first time I used it the bit kept slipping. Tightened all three points on the chuck and it still slipped. I replaced it with a $40 Jacob chuck and it worked perfectly. My advise is to add a good chuck when you buy.

The media could not be loaded. I am impressed that you can get a powerful magnetic drill for this price.metal drilling is not a issue anymore slowing down my projects. I made new handles and a whole drilling jig for my projects using the drill.the bottom of the box collapsed during shipping and the handles and other parts got lost. I got a little discount for the lost parts because I didn’t want to return it because I needed it right away. I am satisfied with the 1500watt beast. Unfortunately, I had to purchase this product twice. First one was lost in transit, was issued a full refund. I purchased the kit that came with six annular cutters and drill chuck. The provided annular cutters seem to be of decent quality, the drill chuck on the other hand seems cheap. The arbor has a touch of play in it probably not the best unit for extreme precision. The magnet is extremely strong and the drill is reversible. It has a quick connect style arbor that hold the cutters. Not sure if this is a proprietary set up or if regular two sided cutters will fit properly, I have not seen this set up before. That being said, if regular cutters fit and work properly, then the quick connect seems to be a bonus. The unit has an onboard coolant/lube reservoir. However, mine did not come with the hose as it was described making it useless. If purchasing for daily or frequent use, I would probably recommend going with a brand like “Hougen” or a brand of similar quality. But for occasional use this seems to be a good product at a budget conscious price point. ... show more

I am mounting rails on a trailer frame and I needed this so I could drill perfectly level vertical holes. The frame I’m working on is 3 inches wide and the base of the mag drill is about 4 inches wide and I have noticed if you do not have the entire base of the mag drill on metal, it will not hold. It won’t even hold it down. Wait, I was very disappointed, when I wound up doing was cutting out the 8 inch plate wider than the magnetic and screwing it to the frame and then I could magnetize it to stick to what I needed but other than that it seems like it’s gonna be it’s gonna be worth the money, but you got to understand if you’ve got anything narrower than with the magnetic by says it will not work even placement horizontal you can still pull it off till it left right just keep that in mind ... show more
