  • Packable and easy to set up and very stable Packable and easy to set up and very stable
Puts together easily and materials seem to be good quality. The floats held air and the one way valves work great. I was able to inflate the old fashioned way within a minute. The only problem was that the screw they included to attach the middle section to your canoe/kayak are completely useless. Trying to figure out how you are going to connect it to your watercraft is going to be the most tricky part. I attached mine to my canoe with hose clamps and they work great. I love how portable the whole system is. I’m taking them out this week in the water and will update the review if there are problems. UPDATE: we used the stabilizers this weekend while fishing on a river with some current. They worked better than I expected. I was able to stand in my canoe without any fear of it tipping. ... show more

  • Great for kids or fishing
These fit a canoe perfectly and are well made and well put together. Made the canoe extremely stable so my very small kids could run amd jump around no worries. We even went through class 1 and 2 rapids (small stuff) on the delaware with them on and they made it super enjoyable because we didn't have to keep worrying about stability and telling the kids to stay low. I strapped them to the yoke of the canoe using ikea style tension straps. Had to wet the straps first so they wouldn't lose tension halfway through but it was no issue. Even if the straps loosen a bit the canoe is still stable with this design. I am 200 lbs and was able to easily get back in the canoe from a swim with these things on. Plus it was easy getting the kids in and out of the water with them, so they got a few nice swim breaks throughout our trip. They sit an inch or two deep in the water when installed, causing a good amount of drag since they are so short. This is great when with kids or large dogs as it makes the canoe extremely stable. But I might consider making a spacer out of a small peice of 2x4 next time to lift them up a few inches higher, so they just barely skim the surface when the boat is flat, and only dig in and cause drag when heeled over a bit. Or maybe ill just mount them sideways or upside down to get the same effect. I think these would allow a canoe to safely go into coastal bays and larger lakes even when the water is cold, and are excellent for fishing because you can stand up in the boat to cast or catch a fish no problem. I wouldn't take them out in particularly rough water but they did fine in 1 - 2 foot waves/rapids. They are too short, fat and draggy for a sailing or motor rig though in my opinion. A minor issue we had was one of the pins that keeps the floats fell off my first time using it, but there is enough friction alone to hold the floats on at least for a while (it was fine for a 6 mile river trip without it). Ill probably replace it with a through bolt and nylon lock nut in the future. ... show more

  • Great product, requires mechanical aptitude to install Great product, requires mechanical aptitude to install
These work really well. I’m now able to stand comfortably on my fishing kayak and it is a game changer. However, you need to be very mindful when installing them to make sure you don’t really mess up your kayak. It does NOT come with any installation hardware or instruction. You will need to improvise. Here is what I came up with and it seemed to work really well. I used four 1/8” toggle bolts as shown in the photos. Make sure to cover the threads in some low strength thread compound, and don’t overtighten them. I don’t recommend using only one fastener per side, you run the risk of it ripping through your kayak’s skin. Definitely use at least two per side. I would have used three if I could. The floats apply a lot of upward force, especially when you stand or hit choppy water, so there is no such thing as overdoing it here. Last thing you want is to blow open your kayak and have it take on water while you’re enjoying your day. ... show more

  • Very Satisfied with Performance and Quality
Great product! The VEVOR Kayak Stabilizers are easy to install, well-built, and make a big difference in stability. I feel much more confident on the water, even in choppy conditions. Lightweight but sturdy—definitely worth it.

  • Wonder product, very stable in rough water! Wonder product, very stable in rough water!
Very stable, helped greatly in choppy water! You will want look up some videos on YouTube for mounting ideas as mounting hardware is not included. Used toggle bolts with large washers and silicone to make waterproof after drilling holes for installation.

  • Good price, horrible instructions.
As others have said, the instructions are useless. The pamphlet included in mine was titled "kayak storage rack." Not sure how that got past QC. The receiver holes on top of the floats for the arms to slide through were deformed from the packaging. I had to gently heat them up and ease the rods through. I did put some lithium grease on the rods and that helped. It will appear that the adjustable rods are meant to slide over the mounting bar, but they do not. They sit on top. There is no mounting hardware included. I plan to mount a piece of treated 2x4 and then attach the bar to it. I'll follow up after I get the boat on the water. ... show more

  • Great stability, You may need different hardware.
I restored a 2 person Kayak to use for fishing. The 1st run it rolled and dumped me in the river in about 30 seconds. Added these and 2nd run was a way better experience. Really stable! You may need to buy your own bolts or screws. The ones we got wouldn't work for most applications.

  • QUALITY & AFFORDABLE!!!
High quality, work well when used correctly. Mounting required 4 holes to be drilled in canoe and 2 U bolts but highly recommend to someone trying to stabilize their canoe. Easy to use, very stable, easy to put together, rubber fits tight like it should assuring snug fitment on poles.
