I got this machine to do snowcones/shaved ice at Little League Concessions. The machine looks great and is manageable to carry and set up and it uses crushed ice and made really fluffy shavings pretty quickly. I loved everything about it, including the price, EXCEPT- it was disappointingly loud. Every time It started grinding, I was getting increasingly hateful stares from spectators.lol I tried to run it between batters and during applause, and covering it with a towel helped some, but the Warden finally came over and told me it was too distracting and shut down the operation. The only complaint I have is how crazy loud this machine is. It makes the shaved ice fast and easy. It’s not heavy and easy to operate. It accommodates any kind of ice cubes and makes very uniform shaved ice but the noise level is on an industrial scale which hurts your hearing if prolonged exposure. We got this the other day and so far my family and I have been enjoying this machine. The first thing is that it’s much bigger than we realized when we ordered it. Make sure to look at the dimensions and at all of the pictures as it’s huge and isn’t some thing you leave on your countertop all summer. The next small issue is that the ice looks shaved when it comes out of the machine but as soon as you have the syrup, it seems to turn into more snow cone type ice. Not sure if that’s the machine or some thing that just happens but normally when we get shaved ice at the shaved ice ice truck, it stays in that fluffy state and doesn’t turn into a little glossy pellets. ... show more
