I purchased this unit a year and four month ago and it’s still working great. I plumbed it to my reverse osmosis unit and the ice is clear and tasteless. It makes a good amount, but if you’re having a large party, say 50+ people, start making ice and bagging it a day or so prior. Even though the holding tub is not refrigerated, the ice does not melt very quickly. I also hooked up the drain line to a float level pump since I do not have the unit near a drain. I have it pump into a bucket, or recirculate back into the machine through food safe tubing. Note that I only do the latter when I’m home and monitoring and not overnight. It could result in overflowing. Also, I only use it when needed, which is probably twice a month for 1-2 days. Make sure you clean it out, dry the inside well. It’s easy and there’s a drain cap inside (see photo) to make it easier. Overall this machine is an excellent value and I’ve made hundreds of pounds of ice with it. I highly recommend it.

Ice maker worked for a year, now it stop working and appears to the water sensor -- nothing in manual on how to fix - no number to call at Vevor, just Chat-- aweful customer service - needed my order number which I needed to search for, even though I had model and serial number-- Even after that, they were not able to connect to me to technical support and told me I would receive an email, which I never did -- no idea what the problem and even if I needed a new float, I need to now search for it, assuming this is the issue --

The media could not be loaded. It comes packed very good. After I finished my install I waited 24hrs to plug it in and start it. I flushed few gallons of water trough the filter that came with it, before I connected the other side of it to the ice maker and I also connected the condensate pump. Both came with the ice maker machine. Make sure you leave 20 cm. around the machine to have enough airflow to help cool it down. I installed mine in the pool house and it’s working pretty good. I’ve been using it for about 10 days now. It gets pretty hot during the day here, 88-90F. Once it fills with ice, I think it took about 6 hrs the first time, it shuts off and only starts again when ice inside melts or you take ice out. It refills with ice fairly quick (few hours). Today I noticed an drop of water on the floor behind the unit. It’s only condensation dripping from the cold water which drains out of the ice maker into the condensate pump, so it’s perfectly ok. The factory settings that came programed on my machine works very good for me, I didn’t change them.

As with many reviews on these VEVOR icemakers, they make a lot of ice quickly. This is a nice machine, I just wanted it to work as advertised. Unfortunately, the ice is not clear-ice as indicated in the photographs and descriptions. Because of other reviews, I assumed there would be issues with the filter, so I installed a higher-end filtration system with a pre-sediment and a carbon block filter. And yet the ice is still cloudy after many full ice making cycles. Also, some reviews point out how the ice doesn't break up (again, as shown). It simply doesn't on this price point of machine. However, I noticed how you level the machine does have an effect. Also, the condensate pump and the filter are not as bad as described. Yes, the water filter is a very basic sentiment filter and was not up to my standard. Again, you need to remember the price point. Yet the condensate pump works wonderfully and it's dead quiet. I wanted a machine that came with the pump and it works great. In summary: We use a lot of ice, and I wanted something more than a counter-top unit. And I am happy to finally have a machine making ample ice. As nice as this machine is, I just wanted it to work as advertised. I can't recommend it as a "commercial ice maker machine". If I had a small bar or retail space that required ice, the drawbacks of the filter and having to manually break up the ice would prevent me from recommending it. As it is, I'm okay with putting a better filter in front of machine and putting up with breaking up the ice. Yet this simply wouldn't be acceptable if you relied on it for a busy retail space. Other annoying thing is setting the ice thickness. Many ads tout the ability to adjust the ice thickness. Yet the feature is awkwardly placed within the menus. And it is not that it simply buried in the menu structure, it is very poorly described in the manual and unintuitive. Once you've figured it out, the setting stays accurate, yet for such a prominent feature it should be much easier to set.

Purchased for a coffeeshop with medium volume. Within the first two weeks, the ice began to melt. Third week, the sliding door dislodge from the track and we were not able to fix and the lights stopped working. Sigh.

Update 12 months later Still love it. It has run none stop for 12 months now and not a single issue. Even had a few power outages and it clicks back on and goes back to work when the power comes on. Would buy this same brand tomorrow. Love it. With ice machines costing over $2k, I was worried about this one. Had for 4 months and works great. During the extreme cold blast, we emptied 3 times a day to get the water line flowing and for 2 weeks.....it made ice 24/7. Would fill the 35lb holding bin up within 8 hours or so. The only downside with these types of ice machines is you must have a water drain and to be water damage safe (no pump) it does need an outlet drain with no pump. But that is for all of these types of ice machines that must be drained. The upside to thes types....the ice is always fresh just like a restaurant. Bottom line, 4 months in and we love it.
