  • Excellent for small sailboat, assembly is frustrating
Size: 420lbs
Very sturdy, better than expected for the price. But among the worst instructions I’ve ever seen which made assembly more confusing than if no instructions had been included. Purchased for 14’ sailboat dinghy.

  • Easy to tow with bicycle. Easy to tow with bicycle.
Size: 420lbs
The trailer is specifically designed for playing tetris with stuff in your garage like a small boat you normally launch from your truck bed versus trailering or a kayak. The trailer is NOT designed to be towed with a car. You could reasonably configure the trailer to be towed with a golf cart. I am continuing my education and got rid of a car temporarily to save money. I purchased my kayak when I was living steps from the Gulf of Mexico and recently moved 3 miles from the water. This trailer enabled me to still use my kayak despite being several miles from the water now. I simply bolted a bike cargo trailer Hitch coupler (cost about $10 on Amazon) into the trailer tounge where the handle is intended to bolt and it is a perfect fit. The trailer weighs about 50 pounds and so does my kayak. I found the center of balance on the trailer so there is about 15 pounds on the rear axle of the bicycle and it tows nicely. The tounge does rub my rear tire on turns but I'm mindful of this and I don't have to make many turns and when the tounge and rear tire do bind, I simply get off the bike and walk the bike and trailer through those handful of tighter turns. I lock my bike and trailer to a sign post by the beach, so I theft proofed the trailer by using red lock-tite on the bolts then rounded the bolt heads with a Dremel. I also added a couple rivets in addition to rounded bolt heads. I bought a heavy chain lock for the trailer and I lock my bike with a kryptonite lock. Also, I added rivets to my bike seat (no longer quick release), and rounded the bolt on the rear wheel of the bike so the trailer Hitch coupler is also difficult to steal. I tested the trailer yesterday for the first time and the trailer worked great. My only complaint about the trailer is that it could accommodate the shorter width of kayaks better but that is an easy fixed by adding rope of bungee cords. I used bungee cords but did not have them tight enough to compensate for where the trailer fell short. The trailer is strong; went through every one of my drill bits modifying the trailer to my needs; then went through nearly every applicable Dremel bit but got it finished. The trailer is stable (despite my kayak shifting). The side of the road I am on is about 14 feet above sea level so I had to go down steep hills getting to the beach, and clobbered a couple curbs along the way, and the trailer stayed planted so it is very stable. If you wish to move the trailer itself, simply remove about 3 bolt and the trail can be divided in half and fit in a truck, van, etc. The trailer itself is slightly longer than the average mountain bike which makes it very portable. Good overall value. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Hard pass.
Size: 420lbs
If you enjoy being frustrated by the project, this is the project for you. I am very mechanically inclined found the instructions to be incredibly hard to follow. Parts weren’t marked very well and there is a part missing. Luckily I have a cotter pin left over from a previous project and was able to use that. I do not recommend this dolly. ... show more

  • Great Boat Dolly
Size: 420lbs
Well made. All holes line up on assembly. Very easy to assemble. Took maybe 1 hour. Holds our American 12' jon boat very well. Only negative is that I wish it had wheel bearings or at least some shims to protect the wheels. Really not a big deal since it doesn't get towed. Recommend

  • Just no
Size: 420lbs
If you buy one of these the very first thing you should do is send it back without opening the box. If it’s too late and you opened it, the next thing you should do is throw the idiotic instructions away. I enjoy a challenge but they are the worst I’ve ever seen in an assembly kit. Lay the parts out on the ground and try to make sense of what you see compared to pictures. That’s the best advice I can give. I was missing three bolts but rather than try to deal with the company and wait time (once this thing is opened and laid out it takes up a lot of space) I went to Lowe’s. This thing is rated to hold over 400 lbs. I’ve got a 125 lb peddle boat with trolling motor and the arm flexes noticeably when I lift it. There’s no way it will hold up over time, but once the box is opened and all the parts are unpacked it’s way too big a pain now to try and return. Buyer beware… ... show more

  • A solid meh...
Size: 420lbs
Quality seems okay, the instructions are absolute garbage. One of my tires arrived flat, punctured tube. Cost me an extra $25 to get it working, hence the low rating.

  • Definitely worth it! Definitely worth it!
Size: 420lbs
This is amazing! Bought for my paddleboat to take in and out and it's perfect! Very sturdy and easy to put together by myself. Totally recommend! Love how I can adjust the size due to the size of my paddleboat.
