This machine has to be adjusted, tightened and realigned every time you use it. I do not have time for this and want to return this item. Apparently the manufacturer can't do nothing and I have passed my return window. I have been working with this machine for the past 3 months trying to get it to work properly. I have wasted more materials then I have made. I do not recommend that you buy this product unless you have hours each time you want to use it to make sure every screw is tightened and perfect.

First try into engraving but having wanted to try it for years. The instructions were a little limited but similar to 3d printers I have put together in the past so that helped out in making it a smooth build. A bit of a learning curb with materials and I'm still making more mistakes then I ought to but its fun learning as I go and practice makes for better results but its going to take a while before I really get it right with consistency. All in all a great beginner device as far as I can tell and the family enjoys seeing what they can engrave with it!

It took me a while to get this product setup as the process is fairly intimidating. My brother is mechanically inclined and assisted me. I don't think I could have done it myself. We purchased LightBurn software (not included) as it came highly recommended and has a user friendly interface. The rotary tool is really cool as it allows you to engrave on cylindrical surfaces in addition to standard flat surfaces. We setup the engraver on a sturdy table in our basement near a window which opens easily. You will want to make sure you setup this product in a well ventilated area especially if you intend to use the engraver on items other than wood, to avoid potentially harmful fumes.
