My husband used this for the first time today. We have been burning in our Blaze King for two seasons now. We figured we would have to work from the roof, taking the chimney apart. Not appealing since we are in our late 60’s. When I found this sweep, and the reviews were good, I bought it. So glad I did. It was easy to use, and very effective. Please watch the video, and make the cardboard screen it recommends. Not a speck of dust escaped onto the cabin. We are very pleased and highly recommend.

This worked brilliantly and was a great alternative to getting in a steep 3 storey roof. Previous owners told me they’d cleaned the chimney each year, which I doubt was true. My chimney was completely blocked with creosote and ash for at least 5 of 40’. This device cleaned the entire lining of the chimney and produced approximately 50lbs of ash and creosote. It’s flexible so you can run it from the chimney clean out in the basement and avoid getting on the roof. The only issue I had is the cleaner came off at the top of the chimney and now sits up there. I would suggest anyone to tape it on to ensure it won’t come off. It paid for itself in one go and the chimney is super clean. Fire roars like a jet engine now. Highly recommended for steep roofs or tall chimneys.

This was so light and easy to use. We had a huge grass hay nest that the sparrows had made at the top and down the length of our 25 foot wood stove chimney pipe. It got to the very top with no trouble and cleaned everything out.

I received this product yesterday and used it today, about two hours ago. I don't write Amazon product reviews often, but this one is very good. In about 90 minutes including set up and clean up, I cleaned my double wall 30 foot (10 m) chimney liner. It worked so well, that not much additional sooted creosote was coming down as I worked it back down the chimney to disassemble the rods. On the way up, about two lunch bags of soot and creosote built up in my wood stove. The rods are sturdy, yet flexible, and easy to handle. The system comes with gloves, eye protector, a chuck for drill attachment, and a tool to push the spring-loaded balls to disassemble the rods (not really needed if you hae a moderately strong hand). The stiff nylon 'tines' were barely worn after its use. I am very pleased with this product and I saved money compared to one appointment with a chimney sweep. This product will work best with a circular flue liner or double walled pipe, maybe not as effectively with a rectangular flue.

This year, it seemed with every fire, things got a bit smokier. I'm looking at my husband, with smoky tears running down my face, as he stokes the flames. He's just sure it's the "new wood" we are burning; I'm not in agreement. So after we'd managed to fill our entire home with smoke, twice; give every family member a sore throat, and piss off the neighbors with hella loud smoke alarms, we decided a chimney cleaning was in order. I thought we'd hire "a guy". You know, a Dick Van Dyke lookin' fella that would sing charming songs and get to chimney sweeping. But, noooooo, my husband decided we needed a chimney sweep kit and some determination. As much as I hate to say this, he was 100% correct. That kit has everything you'll need with the exception of a power drill. I mean everything all the way down to a fireplace liner to catch all the soot and gloves. It's easy to use and even comes with a sturdy storage bag for the next time you try to smoke your family out of their home in the dead of winter. P.S. It also works on the dryer vent. YW :)

For the past 30 yrs I did not have a chimney cap installed on the top of my chimney and last year a squirrel decided he was going to make a nest in my chimney flu. I safely removed the squirrel unharmed , and cleaned my chimney from the top to bottom and effectively removed a small pile of sticks and twigs that were clogging up the chimney. While I was up there I finally got around to installing a chimney cap. This chimney cleaning kit is fantastic and easy to use and I would confidently recommend purchasing one before the log burning season...stay warm.
