  • Great product, made to be heavy duty
I've used SAM splints many times before, but like the veterinary version a little better for my personal bag. The veterinary version's inner aluminum is twice as thick as standard SAM splints making it a little more rigid and sturdy.

If you know Sam Splints then you know that even though this is marked as a veterinary version it is the same one they sell for humans only a bit less expensive.

  • it works
It is what it is, how could anyone give a review about these. Maybe if I broke something and used it and found it lacking in someway I could write a better review.

  • Not a bad product
This says vet Sam splint but it wasn't what i go in the mail. The vet kind has a dog on the picture and this was thinner. The product did work as long as my dog left it alone.

  • Pretty good stuff
Pretty good stuff. We used this for a small dog that basically had a bone bruise, but the vet didn't want to put a full cast on since it was so small. We got this, trimmed it up and put it on during certain parts of the day to immobilize her so she could heal up without limping around all day. After about a week of on/off, she healed up and it's still in a usable condition (used only inside on carpet). With that said, I would get tin-snips to trim it down. It'll kill your nice scissors if you trim it with them. The trimmed surface can also have a small metal seam which can damage wood floors and such, so be careful and either trim it so you can form up around the bottom of whatever, or use tape across the bottom so you don't get any issues on your floors. In the end, I bought another roll just to have "just in case". ... show more

  • Ok not easy to shape
Ok not easy to shape. Only used once and decided it would not do the job on a small pet.

  • Product is great, timeliness of receipt was poor.
If you're looking to stock a first aid kit, go ahead and order it. If you have a current need, get it somewhere else. I ordered this to make a splint for my dog's weak wrists and it took all of 2 weeks to get here. They didn't even stick it in the mail until 5 days had passed. Product is fine. Be very careful with the corners after you cut to size! ... show more
