I purchased this camcorder to make videos for my YouTube channel. I wanted something simple, easy to use, and ultra portable. *It has a super long battery life. I can use it all weekend long and still have a charge. *It's lightweight and compact, a little heavier than my pro max cell phone, small enough to put in my handbag. *Easy to operate, especially the touch screen, and position of zoom buttons. *The price is very reasonable for a high performance camcorder. It takes great videos. *8k There's only one thing I can think of that would make this camcorder better, and that's if the videos could be edited on the camcorder. I'm not aware of any editing functions on the camcorder, so I currently transfer all the files to my laptop and edit the content that way. ... show more

I like that the camera is exactly as advertised. It is an inexpensive camera that is a good value for the money. However, I didn't want a cheap camera. My wife bought this model because it took me too long to find the one I like! I don't like the cheap features. The 2012 camera that this replaces was a better camera. This one takes 7 seconds for the camera to power up. Then there is another 2-3 second lag after the record button is pressed. 18X zoom is not enough zoom, especially recording school sports. The menu takes some getting used to. It is not arranged intuitively. It is weird and alien. I like the touch screen and the remote. The battery is just a little bit off from fitting in a genuine Cannon battery charger. My wife thought it would fit in the old charger, but it is not the same fit. This camera charges with a USB C port, which is fine. You can use a laptop or cell phone charger to charge it. I don't hate the camera, but I don't love it. I am getting used to it, so my opinion is softening. If it fell off a bridge into a raging river, I would only cry for my lost recordings. I should rate this camera as a 5, but I won't. Buy this if you want a cheap camera that works good enough for who it's for. ... show more

    • HDMI useless and very blurry on small items at zoom
The media could not be loaded. Boght 2 the image quality not so good on zoom for detail for little things like jewlery. Just looks blurry. Not expect amazing but be nice if could be somewhat nice. ADDITIONALLY one of them don’t work on hdmi because when hdmi plugged into it it just start flashing and going crazy. I need only for hdmi so I basically spent the cost of 2 just to use one. Let’s see if seller gets me a new one and I’ll adjust my review. If you still see this it means seller don’t care and did not help me with one that is basically useless to me. I’m pry going to just have to buy a 3rd one from someone else ... show more

I like the camera. It’s compact, but the right size and easy to navigate and learn. But before I got a chance to really use it the screen is appearing to malfunction. I’ve only had it 5 weeks. I haven’t dropped it or anything. Decent for the price when it’s functioning.

Good camera with a good solid remote. The WiFi hasn't been tested as we don't have use for it. Good zoom, and clarity. The menus are easy to navigate through, unlike their previous models. One feature which we DO use is, you can recharge the battery while using it. Just FYI, the remote only works after turning the camera ON either by flipping open the display or depressing the Power button. Hope this helps. ... show more
