  • I was a skeptic but now I am a believer
Size: 32 oz
I always get fleas really bad in the summer. I keep collars on my indoor cats and do not allow them outside, and I even spray defense spray around windows and doors. I used to have to flea bomb rooms, which was very inconvenient and borderline dangerous. I even put out the Victor flea traps hoping it would help. But they always came back after a few days with a vengeance. I decided this year I would try something less invasive and harmful than a flea bomb. I was desperate so I bought two 32 oz bottles and hoped for the best. It's been 6 days and I have done 4 spray downs on all soft surfaces. I also ran the Roomba, put out two additional Vicotor traps, gave the cats a dose of Capstar, and lightly sprayed down the cats' backs with the spray. Holy moly, the fleas are almost totally under control. I will probably have to spray and vacuum a couple of more times to make sure all of the fleas are eradicated, but it has gone from 20 fleas crawling on my ankles just walking into the living room to maybe one if I walk in the area where the cats hang out the most. And the best part is the spray is much safer than typical pesticides and it smells kinda good. It is made with peppermint and a derivative of clove oil, so it has a fresh and spicy smell. It does make me cough a little if I accidentally walk into the mist of it, but nothing extreme. While it doesn't work immediately, it does really work. Even flea bombs take a couple of doses to work well. Also, you really cant rely on just the spray alone to fight an active infestation. I think the Victor traps are important so you can catch but also monitor the flea activity. Vacuuming causes flea hatchlings to hatch, making it easier to catch/kill them. Treating the cats is also important. I have not noticed any skin reactions when I used the spray on the cats either. But it is very important that you only lightly spray them. I work it in very slightly to activate the sulfate (which is the other active ingredient that works like Dawn dish soap to kill the fleas). Once I get things under control, I will definitely use this once a week to keep the fleas at bay this summer. ... show more

  • Works really well!
Size: 32 oz
I haven't had a bad infestation, but have found a few fleas on my cats ( 4 ) and flea meds, collar nothing was working.... my cats do not go outside so I sa confused how the fleas were getting in. Well I sprayed this on my cats ( 1 who is a mentally unstable wild animal sometimes ) and after 30 min took a flea comb and was finding nothing.... not 1 flea where as b4 I was getting atleast 2 at a time.... not sure if it kills, repells, but I can tell you that all 4 cats have not 1 flea that my comb is getting. I sprayed their beds, only my stairs are carpet so sprayed that. Smell is alittle strong for my taste im not a huge peppermint fan but if that keeps the fleas at bay I might adapt it to my new favorite scent lol ( pic is of my mentally unstable cat weirdly loving the bottle of flea spray where as 40 min ago was trying to kill me ) ... show more

  • It's not magic, but it helps
Size: 32 oz
Disclaimer: this product will not rid you of an infestation. I really liked this spray. It smelled like peppermint (very strongly) which didn't bother me at all. It felt very satisfying to spray those little jumping fiends, because it was visibly repulsive to them. However, I'm not really sure if this actually killed the fleas or just made them uncomfortable. For the record, I had a pretty bad infestation by the time I broke down and started using chemical products around my cat. No amount of vacuuming or salt can fix the problem, though, so I tried this. I sprayed every exposed inch of my home. I used the whole bottle in one inning, and sprayed EVERYTHING. It didn't seem to help. I blame myself for that outcome, because there's just no way to spray absolutely every flea, so even if this spray killed them on contact as advertised, it wouldn't have ridden my of the infestation. Still, I tested with it a little bit, just to see. If you put an average adult flea in a tupperware, it will live for days, if not weeks. It varies dramatically. If you spray a flea with this spray and then put it into a tupperware container, it will live for several days afterwards, but it does die quicker than an unsprayed flea. The only way to kill a flea within an hour of spraying it, is to completely submerge the flea in this spray. Obviously, a flea that is simply in or on the carpet when you spray with this won't be utterly submerged, so I'd argue that this spray does not actually kill on contact. However, if you keep your expectations more realistic than mine were and you don't expect this to fix the problem all on its own, this spray is very useful as a supplement. Spray the carpet before you vacuum, and you will vacuum up about double as many fleas as you otherwise would have. Spray it on your bed, and you won't have any fleas jumping on you when you're trying to sleep. Spray your cat's bed, and they'll be safe when they're sitting on it. This spray works as an excellent deterrant to fleas. In fact, anything with peppermint in it will act as a good deterrant to fleas-- they can't stand the smell. (Just use caution when spraying essential oils around your cat or on surfaces that your cat frequents, as too much of them can make the kitty sick when s/he cleans him/herself) With that said, is this product a magic fix-all for fleas? No. No, and you shouldn't have expected it to be. I shouldn't have expected it to be. Is it worth the money to buy it anyway? Yes, definitely. If you have fleas and you haven't gotten around to bombing them yet, this is a fantastic way to handle the problem in the meanwhile. For a very minor infestation, it might be enough to keep things under control, alongside an effective medication that you put directly on your cat. (For that, I'd recommend Adventure Plus, which is what I used to keep the fleas off my cat during/ever since the infestation.) In severe cases, no amount of sprays or medications will solve the problem, and you may eventually have to face the reality that you have to flea bomb your house just to get rid of them- I sure did- but this spray is a great addition to your attack on the evil little buggers. ... show more
