I’ve been slowly replacing my plastic food storage containers with glass versions so I was drawn to these containers when I spotted them. I also food prep lunches for the week so I’ve been looking for reasonable sized containers to hold a decent sized meal. These containers meet that need really well. The glass is really thick and substantial. The containers are well sized to place a full meal even if you like to keep your protein and vegetable separate. What really sets these containers apart is the lid. The lids have an actual soft gasket that does make these containers airtight. They also have 4 locking mechanisms, one on each side. I’ve put hot food into these containers and put them straight into the fridge with no problems. When I pull the food out the next morning there is a vacuum on the lid so I know they are airtight. I haven’t made my first batch of soup yet for the winter but I expect these dishes will work perfectly for that purpose. One tip, when you lock the lids make sure the lid is centered on the dish and simultaneously lock the mechanisms on opposite sides to make sure the lid is securely attached. ... show more

We like using glass to store food because it's healthier than plastic and allows you to take the food out of the fridge and nuke it in the glass. These are a nice size, not too big and not too small. Good for dinner leftovers or packing a lunch to go. The lids at first seemed nice, similar to snapware with the clasps on all 4 sides, but we have noticed that the center of the plastic sags when you stack other things on top of it, like a smaller container or tub of cream cheese. I don't know why that would be since they feel pretty rigid, but it could be better designed or a stronger material to avoid that problem. We haven't had similar plastic lids sag like that in the past. ... show more

My wife and I have been watching our weight and as everyone should know - 90% of weight loss happens in the kitchen. We have been preparing "Bento box" meals with more whole food ingredients and known number of kcal to help us keep track of calorie intake. Pros: Just the right size for portion control and a meal for one. Borosilicate glass is sturdy and heat shock resistant (could go from refrigerator to oven). Glass is non-toxic so heating food in a glass container will not leach chemicals into the food like plastic container would. The glass bottoms won't stain or absorb colors from foods. The silicone seals on the top make a tight seal so the container does not leak even when tilted or upside down. They fit together on top of each other and take up less space in the refrigerator or freezer. Cons: These containers are make of glass and if they are dropped - they will crack/shatter. The plastic top and silicone seals may not hold up to repeated heating cycles in a dishwasher - I am going to hand wash the tops so they don't warp or become brittle. ... show more

    • Work Fine but lid can be finicky.

I got these to replace some of my aging plastic storage. I like the fact that it’s got the snapware type lid. Generally that type is easier to get closed and leaks less. However, if you don’t get it lined up right, it will leak. My very first experience with it was having to clean up soup off the floor because it leaked. After readjusting the lid, it worked fine, but if you aren’t careful it won’t seal properly, which hasn’t been a problem with any other brands I’ve gotten. Aside from that, it seems to do well in the microwave, it holds lots of food, and storage is easy. Knowing what I know now, I probably wouldn’t buy it again. It works fine, but with kids in the house who definitely won’t be as careful putting on the lids, there are sure to be spills that could otherwise be avoided by a slightly better design. ... show more

I am starting to store all my meals in glass dishes and this set is perfect for meal prep as well as left overs. I like the lids as they seal tightly and I don't get leaks like some of the plastic containers that are out there.
