  • Inexpensive and adequate.
Style: Wired Keyboard
I needed a basic keyboard, and this does the job. It's a pretty standard, slightly compact USB keyboard. It's not especially loud, the key strokes don't feel shallow or squishy, all the buttons work long enough after purchase that I'm confident that it'll last as long as any other regular wired keyboard. The only issue is that the markings on the keys do wear off fairly quickly, but for ten dollars I can deal with that. If you want an inexpensive and reliable keyboard, or just want to keep a backup for your fancier keyboard, this is a good choice at the price point of a fancy coffee. ... show more

  • Great value
Style: Wired Keyboard & Mouse
I keep one of these around as a spare keyboard as I seem to have bad luck with quality mechanical keyboards. I've probably had 5 or 6 different mechanical "gaming" keyboards from Logitech, Razer, and Corsair over the past 6 years or so that I have owned the Verbatim keyboard. The Verbatim keeps chugging happily along while those premium keyboards rot in landfills. Is this a great keyboard? No. It's about as barebones as you can get. Really, the bare minimum for what can be considered a keyboard. But you know that is what you are buying when you buy this one, right? It's practically lighter than air, which makes for a great travel item. Its a reliable workhorse that is always there for me when the other keyboards let me down. I have a really, really bad consistent habit of spilling water on my keyboards. I bust the Verbatim out while they dry, and tend to end up using it for longer than I need to just because its perfectly serviceable. It never really bothers me in any way so I end up using it for weeks at a time. I'm actually using it to write this review while my Corsair, which has probably been dry for 3 weeks now, sits idly in the corner waiting to tag back in. Long story short you are getting what you pay for with this keyboard and mouse set. It's cheap but serviceable, and reliable as heck. If you just need a cheap spare keyboard or a light travel keyboard and mouse set you shouldn't feel any reservations about dropping $15 on it. It will serve you well, if no elegantly. That's all you can really ask for from a keyboard and mouse combo that costs less than a large pizza. ... show more

  • As basic as you can get
Style: Wired Keyboard & Mouse
The keyboard is pretty full featured, but the huge huuuuuuge gripe is the small backspace key. This is incredibly stupid, and had to have been done for cost reasons. There's no other reason to do it. The backspace key is just single size, like any letter key. This makes it extremely hard to delete things as you type, and often I'm putting in 0 or / or whatever keys are nearby instead of deleting them. Plus, they made the enter key the huge size from like old 90s IBM keyboards which further leads me to think this was done to save money. There's literally no other logical reason. The mouse is about 3/4 the size of a regular mouse, but it works just fine. Only 2 (maybe 3 with scroll wheel click? I never use it so forgot to test) buttons though, so if you're like me and are used to a thumb button for navigating back on your web browser, it sucks pretty hard. It's size is actually ok if you're planning on using this with a laptop or needing a mouse you can take with you, but honestly if you're doing that you'd be better off getting a wireless mini mouse like the m185, b175, or if you want to spend a little more, the Anywhere Mouse MX. Hell, if you just need the cheapest wired mouse, get one of those micro mice with the retractable cable for like 2 or 3 dollars. If I were to do this again, I might go for the Logitech mk120 set, but it's twice the price at around $14. It is however from a company that I know very well, and has made quality mice and keyboards for 20 or 30 years. If you want the absolute cheapest set you can find and only plan on using them for initial setup of semi-legacy builds or ONLY as an emergency backup, they're annoying, but fine. Don't get it to type on all day or game on. ... show more

  • Nice Keyboard, Great Price
Style: Wired Keyboard
I have two desktop computers that are identical, bought at the same exact time, One is mine, and my boyfriend uses the other, We've had them now about 5 years replaced the mice a week ago, and decided to replace the keyboards mine worked fine, however my letters had been wearing off since like the second week of owning it. HIs on the other hand I hated if I had to touch the keyboard all the keys stuck, you'd spend longer trying to get a key to work than what it would take to type out an actual sentence on a working keyboard. The keyboards I replaced were low profile keys, they were flat, supposed to help keep crumbs and such from getting under them. But I wanted to go back to "Old school" keyboards ones I knew held up well to his computer game playing, and mad at people online on a game typing (throwing the keyboard down, typing hard etc etc.) Plus I just missed the big chunky keyboard feel. I saw this keyboard for around $9.99 and got two, I am very pleased with it, I will have to get used to the backspace key being small again and the enter key being huge, but that's how I remember it being on the chunky key keyboards it's just been ages since I used one. Even though it is a chunky key type keyboard it is not loud there is no mechanical clinking and clanking when I type, Really all I hear is a light clicking and it doesn't annoy me at al;, where as back in the day the loud clanking kind did. This is a regular sized keyboard, it has the Power/sleep/wake keys on it, has the led light above the keypad for when you have cap locks/num locks and or scroll lock on. There are no volume keys for sound, which I am okay with I have no problem using my mouse to turn my volume up on my taskbar, and honestly my last keyboard had it and it annoyed me very much, I'd go to hit my print screen button and hit volume up instead. The keyboard over all feels durable yet light weight, it has the "feet" on the underside to prop it up a bit so you're not using it flat as a pancake, which can cause pain in your hands and wrist. I wish the plug was a bit longer, but other than that I'm thrilled with the entire keyboard, and the cord is just a minor issue I'm used to a super long cord - probably way too long for a keyboard to be honest - If you're in need of a decent no fill basic keyboard , this will work for you. and the price isn't bad either! ... show more
