Used this 42" collapsible crate for our golden retriever puppy (55 lbs) and it was perfect for traveling. Folds up nicely, great quality product, light weight, easy to fit in the car and gave him a safe comfortable space when staying in an unfamiliar place. I probably could have gone one size down but this will be excellent for future use when he's much larger as well. Or if you have two pups, great space. It can be easily cleaned and the pad that comes with it can be thrown in the washer. This is like having a sturdy pop up tent for traveling with your pup. I suppose it could also be a great space if you are traveling with cats. Excellent value for the money.

Most annoying crate. It does not fold flat(ish). You have to undo all 4 sides with difficult to push levers to pull up to fold. Not fast. You have to assemble this crate, the bottom padding is very thin, just fabric, and it wants to bunch up under the frame . No one with a dog would use the carrying case either! More work, more time to set it up.

Sturdy, easy to set up, and big. I bought this to use for my cat that just got spayed to try and keep her from jumping. It fits her bowls, litterbox, and has extra room for her to lay down and sleep.

Needed a portable crate for a week of hotel stays for a 30 and 50 lb dog who crate together. One is a chewer. Read the reviews, but personally found the set up super easy--less than 5 minutes to set up, and 3 minutes to take down and repack. Folds to a small suitcase sized package. There is a bit of a trick to getting all the bars to click into place--some are automatic, but some resist. I found that if I held them at the joint where they click together and moved that piece up and down and sideways gently, they would always click into place after a few tries. I really liked that the metal infrastructure can be partially disassembled while keeping the top and bottom frame connections in place which makes the assembly and disassembly faster. If I rated anything low, it is the pad that goes inside. The cover attaches with velcro to the crate bottom, which is good; it also zips open so you can take the stuffing out which is good. However the stuffing is a Styrofoam sheet that looks like something you would wrap glassware in--does not hold its shape and super thin. For our next travel we plan to buy a real dog pad that fits the bottom and pack it separately. Overall, very pleased with this purchase, and did not have any chewing problems, although I brought some separate chew sticks that I knew would keep my dog busy for a while that I would give her when we left. I also trained the dogs by putting the dogs in for some time before the trip and giving them treats when they got in. Both liked it and got in it to relax during the trip on their own.

glad we paid much less! It is well constructed, light weight, and collapses into a nice bag to be very portable/storable… but the mesh screens are not strong enough to contain a small dog who wants out. I wish the screen was stronger and as durable as the canvas sides or maybe reinforced in some way because it really would be convenient for a camper but she cannot be trusted not to chew/rip her way out. Probably our fault. Perhaps an older crate trained dog would do fine. Our little pug diggs and occasionally seems to have anxiety. Our dog had been doing very well in a metal crate (and we thought we were done training) but she freaked out and ripped a hole in one of the screened sides of this, escaping on the second day. She still likes to go inside to play with toys and lay down while all the sides are rolled up and open. I patched the hole so we can still use it in the car. It will work well for travel while we are with her but not unsupervised. We didn’t realize how aggressively she diggs and chews attempting to escape the crate immediately after we leave until we purchased a baby monitor- she was always sweetly sleeping when we returned home… but in this crate, she had a moment from The Shining, and we saw it all on camera. Deducted a star because there could be stronger screens and at this price I wish they were, but it’s still a very good product if you have a docile dog or cat that is happy to be in a crate.

Got this crate today. It took me at least an hour to set it up. The design is horrible. It doesn’t fit well at all inside the fabric cover. I had to stretch it to the point it almost ripped to get it to open. Very poor quality. Zippers don’t work well. Loose threads all over the place. Pad in the bottom feels like it’s made out of thin paper. Big disappointment. There are so many pinch points they actually include white gloves to help you assemble. Zero chance you could collapse it for storage travel and reopen without breaking it. It’s a shame because it looks cool. But was made poorly.
