I was disappointed when I opened the box to find that it was much bigger than my old Vera tote (which is flowered, and nice, but a little informal). I set it aside while I put together several other Amazon returns to take to Whole Foods return. I decided I put the other returns in the Vera tote. By the time I got to Whole Foods I loved it! Spacious, lightweight, great zippers. I returned everything else, bought some food and used the Vera to tote it home. Extra nice laptop pocket. It will make a great bag for weekends or short overnights for meeting or visits. Now I want to buy a small Vera to use as a purse. Echoing a question from another review. What is the strap inside the outside pocket for?

Fabulous bag, it literally holds SO much. I like that it squishes down to fit under the seat in front of you on an airplane, even with your laptop on it. I wanted one that zipped up and this fits the bill. Someone said it doesn’t zip closed all the way and you can tell that is a man lol - most women’s purses don’t close all the way even if they zip, it’s just our life 🤷🏼♀️ anyway, like I said it’s an amazing bag the only thing that could possibly make it better is a long strap to make it a crossbody bag as well.

Can that headline be my whole review? LOL I'm not a collector of high end handbags although I do enjoy certain ones if they fill a need. I always balk when folks want to buy me a name bag, except when they say it is a Vera. I love Vera Bradley things! I've got backpacks, handbags, lanyards wallets, you name it. Which also means I've got a lot of Veras and don't really need to order any more. But I couldn't resist this one so I ordered it with the idea that I'd gift it to someone in the future. Well, that didn't last. It arrived and my daughter and I fawned over it then put it back in the bag to store away until a birthday came around and I gifted it. I was scheduled for a long day that included train rides and meetings the next day. Supposedly everything was set, then I got a call that the caterer was uneasy about cross contamination regarding my food sensitivities. Rather than risk being sick away from home I let the host know I'd bring my own food and not to give it another thought. Better we have the day with me well than I disrupt the program by being sick after eating. Now I have to carry my Loungefly purse, my LeSportsac knitting bag (need something to pass the time on the train), and a large insulated bag with breakfast/lunch/dinner in it. Now I'm not saying I don't have other tote bags, nor am I saying the other tote bags wouldn't fit these items. What I'm saying is why use something else when I have a gorgeous black puffy nylon Vera tote sitting ten feet away from where I'm packing my food? This lovely Knollton Travel Tote fit those items easily. The adjustable elastic on either end allowed me to keep the sides snug to the contents. The three individual net pockets inside gave me a place for my beverage tumbler, a spare bottle of water, my oversized eyeglasses cases, and the wires/chargers/etc for my electronic devices. When I got to my event the long, slim laptop pocket was the perfect place for the clipboard, notepad, and event papers to be easily accessible and convenient to get to throughout the day. The pretty lining pattern was bright and pleasant to look at each time I opened the bag. It feels durable and I'm not concerned about the lining ripping. The zippers open and close smoothly and with negligible effort. One thing I don't understand is what is the large strap inside the small outside pocket meant for? If you know, could you reply here and tell me, please? Overall this is a very smart-looking, well constructed and comfortable to carry tote. It fit the things I needed for a long day of train rides and workshops. It would be a good weekender bag for me and I do intend to try it out for that purpose very soon. This would be good for both business and leisure use.

I have traveled the world with a different Vera Bradley travel bag, and I love that this tote provides an alternative Instead of being the usual VB cotton, the material is nylon, whiich makes it both lightweight and easy to clean. It has the usual diamond quilted exterior but in solid black. You can know for sure that it's Vera Bradley when you look inside and see the floral pattern in pink, gold, turquoise and black. I love how roomy it is. Inside, you have a zippered pocket and three stretchy, mesh slip pockets. The outside has a zippered laptop pocket -- you can pull out your tablet or laptop without opening the main compartment -- and a zippered side pocket that contains a strap for putting over a luggage handle. The side pocket is big enough for a passport, but you can't also use it as a luggage sleeve or else risk losing the passport. The bag really needs another quick access pocket on the outside. The main compartment zippers shut, but not from end to end. I deducted a half-star for that, although I considered deducting a whole one until I discovered that I could tighten the ends using the cords. If you don't tighten it, you would be able to reach a hand inside on either end. Small, loose items might spill out. Even so, I'm not too worried about the bag's lack of security since it's too big to use as a regular purse anyway. I love the padded handles. They have a strip of nylon webbing underneath so that the tote doesn't easily slip off my shoulders. Otherwise, the nylon fabric would be too slippery. This tote could probably fit under most airline seats so that you can get to stuff in-flight but even packed to the brim, it would fit in the overhead compartment of even smaller planes.
