I was a little worried that the rainy effect might look obviously fake or would be poorly done, but I was pleasantly surprised. It creates the same calming affect that a rainy day does, lets plenty of light in, but still gives me a sense of privacy in my studio apartment at the corner of a busy intersection. Looks as pictured, incredibly easy to apply, and air bubbles are easy to remove with a credit card or simply just aren't noticable. 17" fit most of my windows perfectly, but if you need more coverage multiple pieces blend together seamlesly without needing to buy multiple sizes. Very transparent and allows plenty of light in, while still giving a sense of privacy. The liner has gridlines which made it so easy to cut sections evenly and determine the appropriate size.

We have a sunroom with French doors, and we wanted something opaque to cover the windows instead of just sheer curtains. We have 2 panels about 21 x 62 and used the film on the side of the window facing the inside of the house. The installation instructions were not very good I didn't think. Before ordering: Measure properly! I should have asked for help holding the tape measurer on the long window and was a few inches short and had to order a second roll (had to allow for a little extra on all sides) as I was trying to do both windows on one roll. 1. I bought a quart spray bottle and travel sized bottle of plain baby shampoo, already had a squeegee, single-edged razor, plastic putty knife and metal yard stick (to help with trimming) 2. Fill the bottle about 3/4 and add just a few drops of the shampoo. This will help the film adhere to the glass and allow you to reposition it if necessary. 3. Clean the window thoroughly. I used windex, wiped well with paper towels, then scraped the surface with a single edge razor to get off any stuck paint or dirt particles. Scrape to the edges so the plastic can cling all the way. 4. Then I sprayed on some of the soapy mixture and cleaned again to get the windex off (supposed to be bad for film) using a squeegee to clean it again. If it's not clean and scraped off, the plastic won't adhere to parts of the window. 5. Cut the film at least an inch bigger than the window measures. I did about 1.5-2". It's easy to cut because of the grid marks on the backing. 6. Because ours pieces were long, I needed my husband to hold the corner while I peeled away the backing. If you are using shorter panels, you may not need help with this part. There is a sticker that helps you separate the backing. 7. I layed towels on the floor and then laid the film down with back facing up (since it's textured, it's easy to distinguish) and squirt the film with the soapy water. 8. Then squirt the window liberally with the soapy water 9. Put the soapy film onto the window, texture side up of course, and make sure there is some of the plastic sticking out on each side - soapy water helps you reposition if necessary. 10. Have some hand towels ready and use the squeegee to start moving the water to the edges and allowing the film adhere to the window. Get it snug. Easier to get rid of the water than to pull off and add some because you didn't use enough 11. When you are ready to trim, it's easier if someone holds a metal ruler at the edge (you are supposed to allow 1/16" around for expansion/contraction) and use the single-edge razor to trim. The corners are the trickiest. You can use a credit card or plastic putty knife to work the corners and bubbles out. It has been on several days and so far, so good! I found a few videos online of applying tinted film and thankfully, this is easier to apply than that since there is texture, but you might benefit from watching one.

I have three small windows that I needed to cover. I decided to measure EXACT the first time so that I do not need to use a razor to cut excess. Your product have a grid pattern on the backing film, so cutting exact was easy. The trickiest step was to remove the baking film. When I tried to do the second window and third window, I was frustrated because I could not get the baking film off. I changed the scotch tape a few times and tried over and over and finally the backing film came off. I also mixed the few drops of dish detergent in my water and the films sticked really good.

This is very easy to cut and install. I used the spray product for installing window film which comes with a squeegee and a lint free cloth. This makes it very easy and works well for me. This product does not include a squeegee, but a credit card works also. The film is easy to cut, comes with instructions and grid lines to make the measuring easier. Although the picture looks like you can see through the rain glass it doesn’t provide a clear view from the outside. Giving much better privacy than the picture would lead you to believe. Would recommend the product. I will be ordering more for other windows.

4 Stars Due to installation difficulty BUT THIS IS A VERY GOOD PRODUCT! MUCH BETTER THAN OTHERS I'VE USED. I prefer privacy BUT PREFER SUNLIGHT TO shades or curtains. This was the best option. Backing (side with grid printed on it) difficult to separate from the side that goes against window glass. Use tape on corners on both sides of the privacy film to remove the measuring grid backing by pulling apart (Most difficult part of installation). Cut to finished size 1/8" smaller than actual glass size, OR trim sides with Exacto knife using squeegee as guide. THE PLASTIC FILM MUST BE SMALLER THAN THE GLASS. Trim to size using a an "Exacto knife" and a steel yardstick for best results. Clean window glass well. Use a razor blade to scrape paint and dirt from window glass for best installation results. After cleaning window glass spray generous amount of windex on window and back of film to install. Use "squeegee for vinyl", which you can find inexpensively on Amazon. Squeegee out ALL windex and air bubbles between glass and back of privacy film for best result. It will appear foggy for a couple of hours but that will go away. READ THE DIRECTIONS!

I bought this to cover a small window in my kitchen. It really works. It's also easy to install. Measure,cut, mist window and vinyl with water, then place on window. I also like it because the light can still come through the window.

I bought this film for my Liss bathroom. I really didn’t have a lot of space around the window and didn’t want to add curtains or blinds. This film worked great. I wasn’t bad to install. Took me about 7 minutes per window pane. The directions were right, use lots of water. I will be buying this again for my bathroom.
