I had used some of the cheaper tube shaped resistance "bands" in the past. They were weaker than advertised, and began to tear over time. I got these to replace them. These are stronger (the larger bands are much stronger) and feel more durable. They've been a great supplement to lifting, and have helped me work on my form and muscle balance with pull-ups. Being that I've only used them for a short time, I can't speak much to their durability beyond seeming like they're more durable than typical bands.
