abunda_amazon_reviews I have been purchasing Vega's Vanilla Protein for a little over half a year now. I loved the nutritional label and how 'clean' the ingredients were. Unfortunately I have come to find out Vega was tested as one of the worst brands polluted with toxic metals and other contaminants. They declined to comment on the study, which further confirmed my suspicion. I will no longer be repurchasing. They have taken out hemp and some other key nutrients that separated him from the competition. I recently got the new formula and it not only has worse ingredients but it tastes terrible. The number 2 ingredient is Natural Flavors, that is CRAZY!!! So that means this protein powder is mostly pea protein and natural flavors, weird!! Natural Flavors can be anything from bugs to chemicals to who knows what. I do not trust natural flavors and I am okay to eat a product occasionally that has natural flavors as the last ingredient but as the 2nd ingredient (ingredients are listed in order by the quantity is used) meaning that there is a lot of natural flavors in there. Basically I no longer trust this company and I will NOT buy any of there products any more. They lost a BIG customer as I was buying there protein greens, this product, bars, energizers to drink during my workouts. I probably spent about $50 - $100 a month with them, sometimes more. So was it worth it to reformulate all the products and take out the expensive products? I suggest you read the reviews of the new formulated products and you will see a BIG difference as they used to have 5 stars for most of their products and now they have 2-3 at most. I am not the only one who is no longer buying their products. Maybe they will change them back, but I doubt it. In the meantime they lost my business. Sadly, they seem to have changed their formula, since this new tub is SUPER-sweet. It's like they took the old formula and just dumped a bucket of sugar in there. I love that this is vegan, and it still dissolves well and is better than many of the options out there, but I was disappointed that they screwed with the formula and think they would have been better off just leaving things as they were. PS. I am NOT a hugely healthy eater, and I eat lots of sugary food. Sometimes reading other peoples' reviews I don't know if the thing is really super-sweet, or if it just tastes that way to people who don't eat a lot of sugar. I got the mocha flavor. I tasted the powder first and holy crap the flavor mocha came first and then a punch of stevia. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it because I HATE stevia. The mocha really tastes like mocha which I love. Well, I mix a half scoop with almond milk, almond butter, and a banana. I didn't get the taste of stevia AT ALL maybe because of the banana, it blends in with the sweetness. The only thing that annoyed me was the scoop was buried in the tub so I wasted some of it falling out and the scoop is HUGE! You would think the opening of the tub is small so why not a small scoop but nope. You will get powder all over your hands and the counter. Also it doesn't indicate where the half mark is so you gotta guess by just looking at it.
