I have one dog who gets fussy in the heat and I'm too cheap to cool the entire house while I'm away, so last summer I added an evaporative cooler in front of his crate. The first one I got had a water reservoir on top and the mechanism for water to flow to the tray broke pretty quickly, making it a normal fan. I specifically looked for something with the water below this time, and this seems to work just as well with a much lower chance of failure and it goes through a very small amount of water. I also like that it's tall enough that it can sit on the floor instead of having to be put on something to blow into the crate. It's not very quiet unless you keep it at the lowest setting. It does not really cool down the whole room down when it's 100 degrees outside especially if you are the type of person that gets hot easily like me. However, I do like the misting spray and rotating feature of this unit.

This cooler does a fairly good job of keeping your desk area or near your bed pretty cool, with multiple adjustable cooling levels, and isn't too loud. The only real issue is that either my unit had a faulty latch to hold the ice/water chamber or it just cannot support a full tank because the chamber opened up when I tried to lift it from the included handle. It works good if the room is already cool and it’s right on you. If the room is hot it won’t make much of a difference even if you’re right next to it. The cooler the water you add the better it works. The mist feature is nice but agsain if the room is hot it just makes it humid.

This unit is smaller than I anticipated. It works well if you fill with water and place it in front of another fan. My boyfriend enjoys it more than I do. I dont believe on its own it will cool our bedroom.

The media could not be loaded. This is more than a standard personal fan because it uses ice cubes to deliver COLD breeze. However, it is not room AC unit, it’s personal AC fan. In oscillating mode, it can cool more than one person, I estimate it rotates about 140-150 degrees. This is visual estimate, close to 180 but not quite there. A few years back we bought a full room size unit that worked with ice so I already knew that the concept works. I just needed something smaller and PORTABLE. If you are out of ice you can use cold water, the breeze will not be as cool as with ice but still better than just a dry breeze. If you are out of ice or cold water, you can always use it as a fan so there are several options. If you are using ice, YOU WILL FEEL COLD AIR and you will SEE the frost blowing out of your fan. Video I am adding here clearly shows it. Make no mistake, this works especially if you keep feeding it ice. Selling point for me was the portability and ability to hook it up to power bank. Why? Well because, yes I am that girl that loves fresh breeze even camping out. Gosh, the humidity and heat combo make me feel so sticky and itchy and yuck but my husband loves camping and doesn’t mind the heat. We do run AC inside the camper for sleep but Caribbean heat combined with humidity is a real bummer when trying to eat out in the open. Or play a 30min Monopoly run. I love to set this at the table we use outside for everything from food prep, to eating or playing games. Ice really makes a difference and helps creating noticeably cooler breeze. It hooks up with the power bank so I don’t have to run cables from the camper. Plus, there aren’t enough outlets or cables for everything we need to take with 2 small kids. Anyways, I am quite pleased with this unit. I refused to leave until it arrived lol we literally waited for mailman so we can get going. It made this trip a lot more comfortable. My husband is just happy that I’m happy (and not complaining) so he let’s me enjoy the fan. There was a coupon when I bought it so it wasn’t too expensive either.
