Description

The Vater brand was officially established in November of 1991, but the Vater family history with drumsticks started decades earlier, in the basement of Boston's legendary Jack's Drum Shop. There, Alan and Ron's grandfather Jack Adams, hand turned drumsticks for the drummers like Buddy Rich as early as 1956. In the early to mid 1980's, the Vater brothers began producing private- label drumsticks alongside sticks for Vic Firth and Zildjian. A few years of this led to the brothers deciding to move their business to a new factory in Holbrook MA. Over the past decade, the Vater family and product line has expanded greatly, introducing innovative products such as the Splash Stick and Acoustic, and welcoming renowned drummers like Chad Smith, Stewart Copeland, and Josh Freeze. At Vater, our goal is simple. . . to produce the very best drumsticks and percussion accessories in the world.

  • Round Nylon Tip has a Great bounce
Style: Nylon Tip
I like the weight and the bounce I get with these sticks. A great medium weight stick for all types of play. I wish there was a lighter stick with a smaller nylon round tip for jazz and lighter play like in a 7a. Maybe Vater will take my request under advisement. Having the nylon tip really helps with crisp sound on the cymbals for the life of the stick that all wood sticks just can't match in my opinion. ... show more

  • Perfect Pair
Style: Nylon Tip
This pair of sticks is great for all styles. I love the weight and thickness.

  • Good stick depending on your preferences. It’s more of a 5a, good for rock or heavy playing.
Style: Wood Tip
I really like this stick for some practice but prefer the clarity of plastic tips. Just depends on what tones you’re looking for. I find Vater sticks have a great feel and balanced weight.

  • Not too bad
Style: Nylon Tip
I thought this was going to be the perfect pair I was looking for as a 5A is too thin/light and 5B is too thick/heavy but I was slightly wrong. It has the weight of a 5A in my opinion and the thickness is .15in thinner than a 5B. I believe I need a stick that is 5B thick but has a lighter weight to it. Overall not a bad pair though as I do recommend for something new. ... show more

  • Amazon doesn’t ship the right stick.
Style: Wood Tip
Vater sticks are awesome and I highly recommend their product. The past 3 orders from Amazon have all been the wrong model. I love the fusion, but they ship me other sticks. With them being a “disposable” item, I don’t return them but will be ordering sticks elsewhere to get what I actually order.

  • The best generic stick
Style: Wood Tip
Once you play with these you’ll never go back. I can’t match their weight or thickness with any other brand. Love the hickory, keeps the bounce crisp long into wear. I often have a hard time finding this size in stores that carry Vader as well, so am pleased to see it on Amazon.

My favorite I love the way I love the tips I tend to use hickory soap plus on that Barry makes amazing sticks in these do not let you down

  • Such a versatile stick, the unique tips helps the dynamics to flow freely.
Style: Wood Tip
These sticks are so versatile, I've started playing for our church and I have to keep everything very low and quiet with dynamics. Our song leader had these and after I tried them out I had to get them j got two pairs. I could get the perfect amount of power with enough draw back on the sound. The unique flat/round tip really helps with the dynamics involving any snare or cymbal work. ... show more
