I have owned a DX 451 for 30 plus years and it never quits and I never broke a drive piston. I bought the DX 460 a year ago and have bought 4 pistons to date. Bad quality to say the least but my biggest complaint is the jamming of this gun. The piston jams after a few shots when it gets heated up. So much for the auto-mag making life easier. I can say that I always thought Hilti was the best and I own a ton of their tools but I can also say that all of my old tools keep on running and all new stuff is garbage. This nail gun came highly recommended by the hardware store guy on "The Wire" to the kids who buried and closed up corpses in abandoned buildings. Of course it was retailing way cheaper on the show. So I'm not sure what to say other than the guy said everything else was second best to this nail gun.

Anyone who buys a DX 460 off of Amazon gets what they pay for. The DX 460 was an awesome tool when they were new. About 5 years ago! That’s right, the DX 5 replaced the DX 460 YEARS ago. So if you’re buying Hilti tools off of Amazon rather than through Hilti, then you deserve what you get which is probably a worn out, used tool with a refurbished exterior. ... show more
