The bristles are not long enough to actually grab the hair. I tried it exactly as recommended. I have thick wavy shoulder length hair and I tried it according to YouTube review and instructions for use. It did not get hot enough either. Maybe for straighter hair this would work.

I would recommend this especially to someone without much experience using a straightener. The only thing I don't like as much is that it doesn't straighten the roots of texture hair as good. It leaves your roots kinda puffy.
