I bought this cabinet to actually use as a TV stand in my bedroom. The brown color matches my other furniture. It was a perfect size. I did not find the instructions to be that easy and had to figure out a couple of things on my own. Also, I am not impressed with the thin piece of boarding that is supposed to be the back of the cabinet. I would have much rather had a heavier piece and paid a little extra for it. The last TV stand I had came with the same backing and when I moved to where I am now, it broke in the moving truck. Overall, this is a nice looking cabinet but should I move again, it would definetly have to be moved by me in my car. The shutter door is a very nice touch. I hope the company that makes this will please consider in the future placing rollers on the bottom of the cabinet for easy movement to vacuum your floors. ... show more

Its a little more milky of a brown than I thought, but its in the right ballpark if you want dark furnature. I really like the cabinet. Fun to build. They give you one extra of a few parts. For the cast screw holds id suggest a few more. One broke on me without much force defective for sure. But like I said they included 1 extra, so I got it built no problem after that. Suggest using a power drill for the screw pegs, slowly drill, its mdf and a laminate, things can strip if you are pressing with too much force or over tighten. ... show more

    • Functional Product With Very Frustrating Assembly

The assembly for this unit was very frustrating. I'm not sure if the pre-drilled holes were too small on my unit or what but every single screw on all four hinges of the cabinet doors did not go in all the way. Attempting to tighten them any further stripped them but both doors wobble a lot as the screws are visibly not in all the way. For $80 I was expecting something a little sturdier, would probably not pay more than $40 for this. It's a functional piece of furniture so I'm not returning it although I have considered. I was so excited to get this. Now, I just want to take a baseball bat to it and burn it. I'm usually pretty good with assembling complicated things from a treadmill to a simple desk. However, the directions are terrible, and I have spent the last hour trying to figure out how to assemble the @$!# hinges!!! Just the hinges!!! For sanity sake, I'm going to leave it and try it again tomorrow. I'm tempted to just throw it away, and go find a nice one (already assembled) at the store. I noticed most of the ones posted where white in the reviews. I ordered the brown. There must be a difference. ***Update: I was able to install the hinges and doors the next morning. It seems to be easier to install them with it standing up instead of it laying down. I'm happy with it and the amount of storage. ... show more

Assembly wasn’t too bad. I struggles with hand screwing in the door hinges cause the holes were so small and pre-drilled, so I used a power hand drill to finish it off and tighten the hinges.     • Use caution and don’t overtighten any screws or drawnut, or you’ll strip the screws or break the MFD

The product is comprised of sanded & painted MFD, which is very unforgiving. I overtightened the very first drawnut and split one of the items beyond repairs. I’m waiting for an answer from Songmic as to whether that part can be purchased alone, or if I will have to buy a piece of real hardwood and drill out the mounting holes, then hope to find a spray paint of exact match. ... show more
