So let me just start by saying I am incredibly satisfied and happy with this product and if you have a smaller size of TV like a 40 to 50 inch you will be fine. I just wanna say I have a 42 inch TV and couldn't be happier with the quality of the product for the price I paid. My only issue I did see is if you have a 50 to 60 inch TV you may come up a little short on cable or you may have to be more careful with placement. As I said for me personally there were no issues the thing it wrapped around the side to the top to the other side with no problems whatsoever, I was just thinking of other peoples needs based on what was stated In the description. Other than the length which didn't affect me, I would strongly recommend this product it's cheap it's convenient and it does what it sets out to do and it does it well. I have some Hue light bulbs in my living-room/gaming-area and this is a nice little backlight to the TV with the hue lights and the tv's backlights. I haven't had any issues and I've had this for some time now and I strongly recommended it as long as you aren't looking for anything fancy like smart controls or other things of that nature. It does come with a remote and it can give you quite a few options for programmable features and I would strongly recommend you keep the remote somewhere safe as it is very small and easy to lose. ... show more

Updated review.... A couple months after my review, this company contacted me via email, apologizing for my problematic lights and offered to send me new ones at no cost... Not only did my new lights arrive a day early, but I also received an extra set! I have been using the new lights for a few weeks now and have had no issues so far. I am very happy with my replacement lights as well as the customer service! I do however have one negative thing I must mentioned, which for me isn't really a problem... The controllers for the lights use the same radio frequency. So if you are using 2 separate sets in nearby rooms at the same time and you are trying to change the color on one set, one controller will make actually change the color of both sets. Other than that, the lights work great! Original review.... I've had this product for a little over a month now. At first it was great! Now I'm just really disappointed. Attaching it to the tv was easy. The lights are bright. Easy to change colors and brightness. However, its been having issues the last couple weeks and they are happening more and more often. The lights are starting to change colors and brightness on their own. Sometimes they turn off. Sometimes it changes to the demo colors and light patterns. At first it happened every couple of days. I have been wanting a bias light kit for my TV ever since I saw one that my friend had and I don't know why I have waited this long. I have a 42" TV and just one strip fit perfectly. The set up was extremely easy, although I first tested where I was going to set the strip using just regular tape until I was comfortable with the placement I was also able to remove the entire strip and re-apply it a bit higher on my TV without trouble. I love the different color lights, and the ability to turn the brightness up and down. I suffer from migraines often and lighting tends to be the main trigger for them, and as a college student I'm also always working on my computer but I can already tell this lighting kit will have a positive influence on my migraines and eye strain. It also provides nice ambient lighting so you don't feel the need to turn on a floor or table lamp. I also plan on buying another to put on top of my kitchen cabinets as I want to bring attention to my high ceilings and set an ambient mood. Note about the remote: I read a few reviews claiming that the remote "was dead on arrival" or just didn't work. I can see how this would be the case to those who are not exactly tech savy to say the least. On the remote, there is a clear tab that you NEED to pull in order for the battery to make contact with the remote. Another thing is the IR receiver which is near the USB plug, needs to be in a line of a sight for the remote to work correctly so I taped it more towards the side of my tv. I have yet to have any interactions with the lights changing when I turn the volume up or down or change the channel. ... show more

First off the package contents gave changed. There is no usb connector. New design of a usb plug I have never seen. 3 copper padds exposed on each side. Plug it into your TVs usb and it’s working. The tape is tricky removing the backing. The roll is useless. When you first plug it in, it will be in demo mode. The brightness will not be full. Here comes the glitch I encountered with my sharp Roku TV. As I made the lights to the brightest setting, my tv (ymmv) shut the lights off and a prompt came on screen. “This requires more power, please use external power”. Now it’s tricky. You have to turn down the brightness before the tv will accept the led light strip again. If you power down and reconnect, shen you power the tv, the light will flash and the power chyron will return. You now have to either give it a usb power source or reset the device with a usb power source, turn down brightness and reconnect to tv and remember to never turn up the brightness. Bottom line is as far as I know, this device is not fully compatible with Sharp Roku 43 inch tv. I have one on my headboard that connects to the USB port in my lamp.
