  • What a difference a good mouthpiece makes
Model: S6
Albeit, on a budget Singer’s Day soprano sax, it’s a massive step up from the stock mouthpiece and makes this cheap sax sound premium.

  • The standard mouthpiece
Model: S6
My daughter is an advanced high school musician. She was given a school soprano for a solo in jazz band. I bought this mouthpiece and the same brand ligature. She said it really helped with voicing and range.

  • Good mouthpiece but might not be best for me
Model: S7
It's a good mouthpiece. I went with 7 because I use a 7 on my alto. I just recently added Soprano to my line up. I think for this piece, I should have went down to a 6. It's a very free blowing piece. Good tone. Soprano, imho, is a hard sax to play in-and-of-itself, so having a mouthpiece you're really comfortable with is important. That isn't the case for me on this mouthpiece right now. So I ended up going with the Meyer 6M for me as it just feels better and is more along the lines to what I am accustomed on my alto (meyer style piece). But I will keep this for future use for now as it is still a very good piece. ... show more

  • Amazing
Model: S6
Sounds very good. One thing though is it is more fat and some ligatures don’t fit will.

  • Quality sound
Model: S6
Works well with 1.5-2.0 reeds. This and my Ricos are my go-to mpcs. Generally darker and more mellow than my other mpcs.

  • Actually well balanced and in-tune
Model: S8
I’ve tried many mouthpieces on my soprano; and it seems they either behave well, or not at all. They either are super picky about reeds, or they have bad tuning at different parts of the horn (my Rousseau 4R is a great example of a fickle mouthpiece). I have V16 setups on my tenor (T77 metal and T7 hr) and alto (A7 small chamber) - and love them - and my soprano V16 setup is no different. I can use pretty much any reed between 2.5-3.5 and get the same, classy (but moderately bright) soprano sound. I’m currently using a Legere Signature 2.5 with a plain ol’ Rovner lig and it’s awesome (although I think a 2.25 may be better fit). I’ve switched between that combo and the Vandoren Optimum lig (perpendicular lines plate) and a Zz 3.5. The Legere is no joke on the S8 - it’s a great match in all ranges and tuning is SPOT. ON. With either setup, my V16 S8 is the ONLY soprano mouthpiece I can get altissimo out of, up to Bb, by the way. Yes. Three octaves of a Bb scale. Yes, you need ear plugs when I get up there. And yes, it is done on a “without high G” soprano. If you’re on the fence about tip opening, you really need to try each one out. I tried them out at a convention and fell in love with the S8 because the lows were warm and the highs had just enough bite to pique an audience’s attention without piercing ear drums. For me, the S7 was a mediocre version of the S8 and the S6 was just boring - although it might actually be a great classical mouthpiece in disguise. My 4CM gets the job done for me in quartet, so I’m good there. ... show more

  • Legere plastic reed users beware
Model: S6
I love this mouthpiece it sounds amazing, everything about it’s it’s free blowing , there’s only one downside to it, that the legere reeds I use don’t fit properly, they stick out a little from left to right so they end up warp, it plays fine for about a day but ayer that It sound stuffy This is just a plastic read issue if you’re using a wood reed go for it I truly recommend it. ... show more
