I have tried every single brand of this spinning cat toy prior to this. They each had major issues like grinding loud gears, broken gears, a flimsy toy that my cats would rip off immediately, weak gears that stop spinning even on carpet, or a sheet that flips up way too easily and needs to be fixed constantly. And they all took batteries including the ridiculous giant D batteries! My cats really wanted to play with them however so I kept trying to get one that would work thinking I was just unlucky. I finally scrolled down a bit on this website and found this one! I guess it didn’t catch my eye at first because it is a little more expensive but my god it is worth it for quality! And realistically it is NOT more expensive because you won’t need to buy batteries! It’s USB-C chargeable and if you have a long cord it works while charging. And it can turn on every couple hours by itself so my cats can play while I’m out! So yeah… I’ve tried them all and this is the only one I would recommend. It spins fast too and isn’t flimsy. Get this one, you won’t regret it.

Our 6 kittens love this toy. As soon as they hear it or see me turn it on, they all pounce on it. They like to run at it from across the room and slide into it like it's home plate lol. I don't think it's noisy. The cover is a nylon type of material, so it sounds like rubbing on a windbreaker jacket, but that's the most noise it makes. Some people can't stand that sound, so that may be why some think it's noisy. The yellow(slow) speed is a bit calm for our kitties, they like the red(fast) & purple(random) speeds best, but they love it no matter what speed, as long as it's moving. The only improvement I'd suggest would be to make the delay for when it turns back on again to be adjustable. 2-3 hours is just too long in between play times, at least for our very active kittens, so I manually turn it back on every hour or so. It would be great if you could have a slider switch to adjust the delay frequency, or better to just have it turn back on when the cats hit it. With how frequently we run it, I maybe charge it about every 3 days. I just plug it in when I put the kittens to bed, so it's all ready for play in the morning. I do really like that the toy will run while plugged in. Some devices won't run while charging, but this toy does, which I think is great. I missed charging it once and it died mid-day, so it was great to be able to leave it plugged in and they could still play with it while it was charging. A fun option would be different cover designs you could buy. It would be cool to have seasonal designs, holidays, funny characters, etc. As well, to be able to buy different toy attachments to swap with the feather and/or butterfly would be fun too. Personally, I don't like feather toys because the kittens like to eat them, and I don't want them to choke, so different non-feather toys to attach would be cool. Regardless, it's an excellent toy as it is, and I would buy it again for my kitties, or to give as a gift to someone with cats. Highly recommended!

I have a middle-aged boy who wasn't overly active and would only occasionally play with toys. I recently took in a younger rescue, who is clearly a hunter, and wanted something that would pique his interest. To my surprise, they BOTH took to this, after a few minutes of it running, and they play with this constantly. The only things I would critique (and the reason for 4 stars) are: the sensor does not appear to work. After 15 minutes, the unit shuts off and I have to constantly turn it back on. A little frustrating for active playing cats. I have another interactive toy that all they have to do is bump it and it will turn back on. The other issue, within a day, they ripped two feathers out of the wand. Thankfully, I was home when this happened. Other than that, it's a great mat for my boys.

The media could not be loaded. Our cat LOVES this toy. I got it on sale and figured it might be fun, but didn't expect much. Misty begs for it to be turned on daily. It lasts a few days before the charge dies, which is nice because she hates it when we take it away to charge. Also, if she is anywhere in the house and someone nudges the bell, she comes running. CONS: #1 she broke the skirt within a few days. By broke, I mean she chewed the fabric so the metal that holds the skirt down poked out. I removed it, and the skirt still works, sort of. It doesn't stay down and gets snagged by the arm. She winds up pulling it off during her play (which is why it's off in the video). #2 The motor is cheap. As you can hear in the video, it grinds when she's pounced. I get it, it's trying to move and she's blocking it, but isn't that the point of the toy? #3 It is not motion activated, it's on some sort of timer. No one will be in the room and suddenly it pops on. Took a bit to get used to, but it's fine now.
