I’m super happy with this slicer and I just got it and didn’t even use it .. over the years I’ve owned many and this one for price was best value on Amazon with the quality of construction and the wheel design for slider with rod , most common sliders depend on rod only for stability and this slicer has added wheel so makes slicing much easier and faster without slowing down to reposition meat … worth the buy for sure …

I can honestly tell you that I have never been so happy to box an item up and return it as I am with this Valley Sportsman meat slicer. I was so excited to get it out of the box this morning and get to work on a smoked pork loin roast right out of the fridge My first indication that the slicer was gonna be a problem was when I took the blade off to clean it for the first time. I specifically purchased cut proof gloves in order to handle the blade, but it turned out to feel like a dull bread, knife instead. Some of the machine oil was stuck down to the point that it was nearly impossible to remove. I also noticed that the support plate did not line up evenly with the blade, but wasn’t sure if that would be an issue, so it started it up. Right away I had a feeling that it wasn’t spinning fast enough to effectively slice the meat based on the dullness of the blade, but I pressed forward since I did not know how it would perform… This thing would only slice at 5 on the dial, which is the same thickness you would get with a good knife. Anything lower would yield inconsistent cuts, not to mention no slices had a clean cut which meant that shredded bits were going all over the counter and the floor as I went along with the roast determined to get one nice deli slice out of this unsatisfactory experience. I can’t even tell you how bad the cleanup was. There were meat bits in every nook and cranny of the slicer. I even had to go in with tiny tweezers to get bits out of the screw holes behind the blade. Seriously, in the time it took to completely clean the slicer, the counter, and the floors, I could’ve went at the roast with a sharp knife, and achieved the same slice thickness with a whole lot less mess and aggravation. Very sloppy performance and requires extensive cleanup. This was a poor investment of time and money.

It slices as fast as you move it back and forth however you have to let it rest if you are doing a lot of cutting. Heats up in about 10 minutes time and needs to be let rest. Cleaning it is fairly simple and doesn't move while in use. Suction holds well and it's js very stoutly built. Overall it works well for slicing deli meat but I wouldn't get this one for slicing up thicker stuff.

It’s alright but it cuts sloppy and isn’t made for heavy work and it cuts slow. It works well in my kitchen but I wouldn’t buy it again!
