Because of the boho washed outlook crumbs and other debris do not stand out. You can see it might need vacuumed but if you drop something remember it bounces. Because it's very hard to find on this rug. It's pretty good size rug and it is pretty heavy but it's supposed to be washable. It is good quality it'll go and just about anything in your house. I really like this rug. The last rug that I got was one similar to this that could be washed. This is really perfect for me because I have a house full of kids and pets and things get dirty easily. Because my last rug was washable, I knew what to expect as far as thickness. This is a thinner rug. It will fold up and fit in a large capacity washing machine, so it can't be super thick and sturdy like a traditional rug. But, it's really a gorgeous rug. I have "cantaloupe" colored walls and the blue and orange really pop on this rug in my living room. I'm super happy with this rug. I've already washed it once and it came through the wash great. This rug is super, super soft. It feels so nice under bare feet and even our dog loves it. The downside is the rug arrives folded instead of rolled up and the creases still haven't completely flattened out. A steamer or steam cleaner might help get the creases out, but I haven't tried that yet. It's so soft that you don't really need a rug pad underneath it, but I did get one anyway to prevent the rug from sliding around. ... show more
