When I decided to create some casual podcasts and video content, I knew I needed a simple, all-in-one solution that wouldn’t break the bank. That’s when I came across this V8s bundle. From the moment I opened the box, I appreciated that everything I needed was included — two microphones, stands, headphones, and all the necessary cables. No extra shopping, no complicated setup. Setting it up was straightforward. Within minutes, I had the microphones connected to the compact soundboard and was testing out my first recording. The microphones deliver clear sound, much better than any headset mic I’ve used before. While they’re not professional studio quality, they are more than adequate for podcasts, voiceovers, and casual streaming. The XLR to 3.5mm connection made setup easy, even for someone who doesn’t usually handle audio equipment. The real fun began when I started playing with the soundboard. Adjusting the volume, tweaking the EQ, and adding effects was easy thanks to the simple controls. Of course, no product is perfect. Right off the bat I want to be clear about what this is and what it isn't. I have a professional microphone setup and that's not what this is. This is more aimed at being a solid option for enthusiasts who are just starting out. The equipment included in this kit isn't extremely high end but it's also not toy grade either, although some features are playful like the sound board which would be more useful if the samples could be edited. I like the different filters you can apply though I found some were hard to differentiate green with my voice. The most useful effect was the ability to duck the ambient audio when the host is taking. I love the option to use an accompanyment and the fact that you can bluetooth in to use it. It gives you a way to play backing music off your phone or another device during karaoke or live productions - wouldn't use it on a recording because that will be hell for your editor. Ultimately what I got this for is to use it to produce a pretend radio show at a LARP. That makes it great that it's a good value basic set for beginners because the players who are operating it are indeed beginners merely pretending to be radio personalities, so they won't really know the difference and neither will their audience. Honestly I thought they were pretty great and I enjoy the echo knob. Very good value overall if you know what you are getting.

I guess this thing is OK. It is far from great though. The microphones are kind of junky. They sound hollow and muffled. 1 of the microphone holders was broken so it was unable to be mounted. The buds don't sound very good either. I am unable to plug my good microphone into this because of different plugs. Wish it had USB plugs instead of what it has. Most headphones run on USB these days. It has some bad noises on the wires. This might be ok for some kid that is just playing around with his friends or something like that. I wanted to just leave this plugged in all the time. While charging this, the noise problems are pretty bad making this almost unusable. I most likely will not be using this.

This kit has a lot going for it, but it isn't perfect. I like the microphones; they are better than I expected but nowhere near professional quality; they are XLR at the mic but then turn to 3.5mm jacks for the soundboard. The sound quality is actually nice it's better than my gaming headset mic by far! The soundboard is a bit small for my liking, I have a hard time working the buttons, and the knob placement doesn't make sense to me. I wish the monitor knob was one of the bigger ones instead of the Echo. The sound effects are better than I thought they would be. They are a solid medium quality again not pro but definitely good for a beginner. The worst parts are the 3.5mm cords that go from the soundboard to the other devices. They are not shielded at all, and I end up with noise or crosstalk. The directions even say that you shouldn't charge the soundboard when using it because there could be noise. I wish that wasn't the case a bit of shielding would go a long way here. My other complaint is that there is no USB I/O most cell phones can't plug into the 3.5mm anymore, making the live1 and live2 ports almost pointless. A lot of headphones are also USB now I had to find an older one for the monitor port to work as intended. I guess you should plan ahead and make sure any existing gear you plan to use has the proper inputs before you get this kit. Overall, it's nice and a great setup for Kids who want to start a podcast or YouTube channel. It's not going to please an audiophile or pro podcaster, though.
