Quick and easy connections, works great with Serrato DJ Pro. But a couple key features are missing and some annoyances. First, selecting songs and loading them into the decks require external control - would be great if they used the existing shift-key and a knob (such as the two track volume controls) to scroll and select a song instead. Second, the lights are fun but when the deck is not being used, they continue to run patterns even when the computer sleeps- annoying at night requiring you to unplug it. No re-mapping capabilities to reassign functionality in the software as well. The sound is good but I would hesitated using it on a large venue/club, headphones have a decent output but can distort if pushed. For the price, it is a fun portable deck and can easily fit in a backpack. The bass/filter option is an improvement over the competition as well. ... show more

This unit came early so I played around with it. I've used a Native Instruments MKII controller for the last 13 years for indoor/outdoor events and she finally spun her last scratch. Not only have I left Full-size, my large hands have no issue with the "Space Saver". Addressing the title: *FX can be mouse driven Serato DJ Lite -Free -recommend driver -Light Show glows from bottom of unit (not why I purchased this unit) -Cluttered DJ screen for Beginners Virtual DJ -Free (NO LIGHTS) -Auto detected -Auto detects Sound Card and gives option for Output Hercules: -Optimize Windows (Google) -Bass / Filter Knobs for controlled mixing and blending -Crossfader DOES NOT have Center Key Notch (it's nice to have but you can eyeball center and it's close enough for me) -Tempo Slider has Center Key Notch (should be on Center for Beginners) -Sits on my HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15 ***IF YOU USE THIS UNIT SITTING ON A LAPTOP - Disable the Touchpad*** Overall, I'm about to hook up and Spin again, Have Fun. ... show more

Love my Hercules Starlight. Works as advertised. Has all important features of the big guys. Only thing is that once you buy this your going to need a subscription to a DJ service. There are a lot of missing and/or function layered functions that a real DJ would want, but this is more of a fun, gimmicky little thing and it's great at boiling it down to the bare essentials. Pairs VERY nicely with an Ipad Pro, Djay.ai and a nice bluetooth speaker. Djay.ai is super cheap, super fun, and has some really cutting-edge features that I think are going to make it take over the profession someday. ... show more
