The media could not be loaded. The pieces are very heavy, sturdy and seem To be great quality. I don’t have a drill press, so I didn’t use the inside piece to bore the hole. I bought this specifically to use the outer sleeve to chisel 1/2” square holes for square stair balusters on a knee wall, and it worked perfectly! The meta is strong and didn’t bend or dent when I was hitting the top with the hammer. The square chisel at the bottom is super sharp, and cut through the wood nicely, it was pine. But I do think it would have worked well on oak as well. It still looks brand new after making 13 holes. The first two holes ended up a little wide and wonky, probably because I wasn’t holding the outer sleeve straight up and down. I should have made a few test holes to figure it out before working on the actual piece. Regardless, the rest went very well, and I was able to skip using the angles shoes at the bottom of the balusters. Looks really nice and clean. I’ll still caulk around the balusters. ... show more

I had never used a bit like this before. It worked well in the drill press for drilling square holes for wrought iron banister spindles. I found that holding the square cutter sleeve with a 1/2" wrench (1/2" bit) helped keep it perfectly alligned.
