  • Exquisitely Simple
This Uurig ball head stands at about three inches tall, is light weight (without the magnetic base), and is highly versatile. Starting at the top, the 1/4-20 stud receives cameras and/or a multitude of standard accessories. It is, I believe, made from anodized aluminum. The thumb wheel platform is plastic and is fixed to the stud. Rotating it, rotates the entire ball/stud. The ball is encapsulated and supported by a robust housing that may also be plastic (ABS?). It has a metal/alloy base, fixed with four small phillips screws (underneath) and a central female 1/4-20 that holds it to the powerful rubber-coated magnet. The tightening knob is plastic. It only requires a slight scrunching turn to make a stiff hold on the ball. This little rig is solid, well made and well designed. Worth the money, as I suspect it will provide long lasting service. ... show more

  • It's good for action cameras, less-so for small mirrorless
Look, it sticks to ferrous surfaces firmly. I trust this with my Akaso and my Insta360 without any qualms. I do however notice a little bit of drift with either camera when I'm driving around with it. If you're using a 360 video camera, then this isn't perceivable by the audience, but you may want to check your footage taken with other cameras before you drive off. I think it's too light for a mirrorless. I tried it with an old EOS M, but it drifted a lot more. I think that's because I didn't want to over-tighten the plastic fasteners, and the mass of the camera picked up the draft while I was driving. ... show more

  • Medium-duty ball head w/small magnetic base for lightweight cameras and accessories.
Well-designed ball head that is perfect for mounting lightweight accessories or cameras like a GoPro. The small magnetic base is pretty strong and its small size helps you conceal it and make it less visible. The red ball of the ball head is aluminum but the housing and tightening knob are plastic. Even though the housing is plastic, the ball head locks down securely and is a good design that appears like it will be reliable and trustworthy. For full-sized DSLR or mirrorless cameras, a larger all metal ball head would be preferable. The magnetic base will work fine for stationary objects that aren't going to be subjected to lots of vibrations like those found in a moving car. For those situations, a larger stronger magnetic base is needed. ... show more

  • Useful and Handy
Very nicely made and designed camera mount simple but effective. Holds well and adjusts 360 degrees so you can reach any angle you'd like. Very sturdy and strong (aluminum I think) It feels solid. Has rubber on all the important spots like base grip knob etc. to prevent surface damage of paint on motorcycle or car. Find connecting directly on to screw stud is the best way and sturdiest. The camera adapter like most is junk it always allows heavier or off-balance items to move or tilt with sudden jerks or movement. So, screw directly into base screw stud for best performance. Glad I got this for my Insta 360 X3. Really opens up the angles I can record from. ... show more

  • Holds Rock Solid!
This is what I would call a medium sized ball-head it is surprisingly strong and holds onto any steel surface with its 65mm magnetic base with ease. The base is completely covered in rubber which protects surfaces like a car body from damage. The magnetic base has a 1/4 20 stud as does the ball-head, this allows you to also use the head without its magnetic base on say a tripod or magic arm. This ball-head has a body that is primarily made of plastic, I know what your thinking plastic? yes but it appears to be a very strong plastic, but the base that makes up the bottom of the body is made of aluminum so when you screw this onto something like the included magnetic base it is quite strong and I do not see this breaking anytime soon. The head itself locks very solid in any position with a large knob that is very easy to tighten and with minimal force does hold rock solid ... I found its holding power rather impressive for its light weight body construction. Note: the base on the ball-head itself does not turn, it is screwed to the head body with 4 screws. This is different then most standard ball-heads where the base can spin independently from what its attached to. I do not see it as much of a problem though as long as you position the magnet and head where you like and then make your adjustments its fine. That said I can recommend this ball-head to those with smaller cameras like an M50 or similar, it should hold that without issue. While It ships with a plastic GoPro adapter, it is not just for something as light as a GoPro, and you can even use this to hold a light in a pinch. Overall it works extremely well and I would definitely give this one a try. ... show more

  • Well built, nice mount
This magnetic mount is really nice and well built. Its pretty heavy and solid so I don't think it will be easy to break. The magnet is very strong too which is nice for larger or heavier cameras. I think its better than your standard mount plus it rotates 360 deg and easy to adjust. Very happy with this. ... show more
