It comes vacuum sealed, inside a box, and there's a white ribbon tied outside the bag, I suppose if you want to use it later to tie a rolled up pad or bedding, etc. The pad fits a full mattress with ample room to spare, so it grabs the mattress with elasticized corners, and can be tucked around the sides. This mattress pad fits nicely on the full size bed in my guest bedroom. The side pockets are very deep and it tucks all the way under the mattress. It is nicely padded and soft. It didn't come with any smell, thank goodness, and it works nicely for my guest bed at a great price.
