I had some issues with the pressure adjustment with this heat press the first week I received it. The knob to adjust the pressure was just stuck and I was only able to move it a few inches each way. I wasn't sure I was doing it correctly. I was so frustrated as I really was anxious to use it. I contacted US Cutter and they tried to help troubleshoot over a few days but still nothing. They did send me a video regarding the issue I was having but that was after I had my husband mess with the press. I had my husband look at it and he was able to get the knob to work correctly again. He said he thinks the threading on the knob was off track. One other issue I'm having is that is squeeks loudly when I open and close the clamp. I'm sure that will be fixed once I oil up the parts but it's highly annoying. These would be the reasons I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Since it's been fixed I've used it for so many fun things! I LOVE making tshirts as well as put vinyl decals on things. I'm glad it came with a starter pack of HTV vinyls and the non-stick sheet as I was just learning about HTV vinyls and how to heat press. ... show more

    • Metal around bottom plate very rough
I didn't like that around the bottom plate was rough and would catch our shirts and pick them. That would cause us to not be able to give to customers. We own a business and don't need to waste products.

I have read thousands of reviews of many different heat presses before I settled on this one. If you are like me and drowning in reviews let this be the last one you read. There will be negative reviews on anything you buy, mostly because of user error, or someone just does not know what they are talking about. This machine is ready to go right out of the box. It uses a regular household 3 prong outlet. No need for voltage changes or anything like that. Works perfectly if you FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS on heat timing, heat settings, ect. Very easy to set up your time and heat. Also you can change between Fahrenheit and Celsius with the push of a button. This machine is perfect for beginners or experts. I have it on a folding plastic picnic table and it works perfectly. I cannot say enough good about the machine itself, as well as USCutter. On delivery, the machine was supposed to be delivered in 5-7 days and it arrived within 3 days in a perfectly conditioned box! I am so very happy :) ... show more

Shipping was super fast. I ordered on Saturday, and the machine was on my doorstep by Tuesday afternoon. I haven't had the opportunity to plug it in and try it out yet, but I can say that the machine is very sturdy and well-built. I think I'm going to have a lot of fun with this machine. I'll update my review after I actually put it to use. Update: Six t-shirts and a onesie later, I can say without a doubt that I LOVE this machine. The operation is fairly simple and straightforward. I had no problems with setting the temp or programming the timer. If I have anything even slightly negative to say, it's that the machine does have an odor when heated, but it's not so strong that it burns my nose or eyes. I assume this is "that new car smell" that will go away in time. This is a great product for a very reasonable price. The 1-year warranty is a definite plus, too. ... show more

    • Great press for a great price
Everything came as described. Others have complained about minimal directions, but the directions included tell you exactly how to set the temperature, timer, etc. There are slightly more detailed instructions on the US Cutter website. Press time depends on the type of vinyl that you are using; you will need to look at the directions for each. It didn't beep when it finished warming up, but it does have a beep when the item is done pressing. Each time you close it after that, the timer will reset and beep and the end time. If you push the "set" button it goes back into set mode and will stop beeping. We used an infrared thermometer to check the platens before pressing; the thermometer is correct within +/- 10 degrees, and the machine was within the +/- range. We did increase the temp a couple of degrees just to be safe. ... show more

Perfect beginner heat press. As you can see in the pics, during shipping the foam pad for the bottom plate, becomes stuck to the top plate, leaving the bottom heat plate exposed: peel the pad off of the top plate and put it on the bottom plate so that the metal is covered and your garment does not come in direct contact with the bottom plate. Other than that - It was easy to set up, easy to use and it doesnโ€™t trip the breaker in my 1950โ€™s house. Comes with a manual and helpful reference guide for heat and time setting recommendations. Fits perfectly atop an IKEA cabinet. Perfect size, not too big and has been too small for any garment or design I needed. ... show more

    • Overall, great purchase.
Overall, this is a great heat press for beginners. I highly recommend purchasing an infrared thermometer to check the temps, as I have found they are not accurate on the machine. Iโ€™ve also found that the heat isnโ€™t evenly distributed, so I am hoping that as I use it more this will get better.

A screw was missing from the top of heating element. Company said they were aware of issue, but they have no replacements. THey said it would not affect the product, and offered me a $10 credit toward my next purchase. I asked for specs on screws so I could hopefully find a replacement myself. I don't recall seeing a response, but may have missed it. I've pressed a Few items using the sample material provided, and the specs that came with machine. I've had to double or triple the time, so I'm not sure if the heat being registered is accurate or if the material is lower grade and just doesn't want to stick. THis is the.
