This adapter works great for extending the display of my Dell laptop to one of my monitors using the DisplayPort. This was the first cable I got to work with Mac mini M1 and Samsung CRG9 at 5120x1440. Still required some fiddling in settings on both the monitor and the Mac. Hoping for a software update to resolve all of that, but this alone is working well enough, for now.

Excellent quality and a great value. I bought 2 other display port cables that were cheaper and i got what i paid for as they didnt work well. Loose connections on both. This cable by maxonar is super high quality and works flawlessly with my new monitor. The connection is snug and wont come loose. Picture quality is superb on the highest display settings. This is not as much as a review than a help guide that may work with others who at first cannot get this to work with their MacBook Pro. This works great with my MacBook Pro 15inch, 2019 + BenQ PD2700U because it's a 1.4 DisplayPort to thunderbolt/USB C HOWEVER, I did have to reset my NVRAM to get my display to run 4k @ 60HZ (Shut down your Mac, then turn it on and immediately press and hold these four keys together: Option, Command, P, and R. You can release the keys after about 20 seconds, during which your Mac might appear to restart). You then can check that the display is 4k@60 HZ by going to "About this Mac"> system report>graphics and displays. Another FYI that may be a helpful option to change the scaled resolution is to press and hold the "option" button before clicking "scaled" in the normal display menu which will show more resolution options but, of course this may change the HZ performance. Anyway, I had to piece together reddit posts and Apple help guides to get it to work so I hope this info finds you if you need it. ... show more

1. It gives the G9 5120 x 1440 full resolution. 2. It only support 60hz. 120hz wasn't possible even with 3rd part apps such as SwitchXres and EasyRes. 3. Some people reported success with 120hz but it's very unstable and had wake issues. 4. The reason for the 3 star/return was that it gave me "No Displayport Cable detected" every time the Mac goes to sleep or shuts down. It lingers for a long time before the monitor shuts down itself due to time out. 5. I have another almost identical cable that gives me the exact same result without the "No Signal" warning all the time. That's why I am keeping that one and returning this one. Update- I switched to a different monitor and all problems were resolved. It’s more to do with Samsung G9 and my M1 Mac mini. ... show more

The construction of the cable itself is very good and feels sturdy but the cable itself is not VESA certified. I could not get G-SYNC to work on my Asus TUF Gaming VG259QM using this cable but it worked immediately after switching to the Moshi USB C to DisplayPort Cable which is actually VESA certified per VESA's website. Do not waste your time trying to troubleshoot monitor issues using this cable like I did and go ahead and get the one made by Moshi. ... show more
