    • Are the screw-holes just decorative?
This works great for its intended purpose, but only if none of the attached parts are going to move while it's in use. VGA connectors are designed to attach to their sockets in three places: the connector itself, and a pair of screw-bolts on either side. No matter how I push, twist, etc., none of my VGA cables can actually connect to this adapter. Are the screw-holes too shallow? Are they not actually rifled? I have no idea.     • Works well - but may not work in each of my Mac's USB-C ports
I am attaching an older monitor (at least 7-8 years old) to my MacBook Pro. The adapter works well. The only issue - not sure the source (Mac, monitor or adapter) is that one USB-C port works better than the others, which say not compatible. Strange as the Mac's USB ports are generally interchangeable. As I said, though, it is an old monitor, so I'm allowing a little slack. And when the adapter is connected to the same port, it always work very well ... show more

Just recently both adapters stopped working. Almost 4 months after purchasing. I got a new work laptop and still the new laptop is not picking up the connection. I had to get a HDMI cord to at least have one monitor working for work.

    • Not connected via USB port
I thoguht that it would connect to my computer using the USB slot but it connects to my Chromebook using the same port that is used to charge it. This is not helpful if I needed to use my computer for a long time

I needed to connect to an older monitor at the school I work at and this worked perfectly. It also doesn't obstruct the other USB-C input on my 2019 Macbook so there are no issues plugging in my power cable or other dongles. The screw holes for pins made me get this particular one versus others that don't have them and I am glad I did. Those VGA cables like to unplug otherwise.     • Works for a while then it doesn't
Worked perfectly for approximately 15 months, now the 2nd monitor shuts off then back on, repeatedly. Monitor checked on two different devices and it's good, adapter is the problem.
