Updates: After the seller got back to me, they took no time sending me a new one. The new one works flawlessly and my usb adapter no longer get stuck on the hub. Although we went through a little hick up at the beginning, I can say that these people care about their product and more importantly their customer. The unit still gets a little hot, but i think it's just the nature of it considering how small the unit is. By the way, I just wanted to say again that the packaging is nice, and the build quality feel premium. Overall, I changed my rating to five stars simply because how much ownership and action they took to accommodate my issues from the beginning. Great people to deal with! Definitely would recommend! Original: I really like this product. It has a nice build quality and seems to do everything that it supposed to do. The packaging is nice too. There are some throw back however. First, the hub get really hot after 20-30 mins of using the hdmi adapter. Second, electric pulse still stores in it even after i unplug it and let it sit for minutes. It shocked me when i touch it. Third, the usb hub is so tight that it broke 3 of my usb devides (2usb sticks and 1 usb mouse wireless reciever). Lastly, and this is big for me, is that the seller didnt even care to reponse to my message ( i emailed them about the 3rd issues). So until further notice, this product get 2 stars because of all those issues combined. It is functional, but definitely not how it was intended. Or at least i hope not! ... show more

    • If you're looking to use this with a MacBook Pro you're going to have issues.
Build quality seems to be good and may hold up the test of time. However the one thing I find to be extremely annoying is that it works when it wants to. I am finding myself constantly unplugging and plug it back in, in order for the second screen to be detected. It doesn't seem to be my monitor as it works whenever another HDMI cable is hooked up nor does it seem to be my Macbook since every time it is connected it senses the second display and opens windows on that display even though it doesn't pop up. I find the fault in the connection as the USB mouse and keyboard seem to be working intermittently as well. I have not found a solution where I can make it work 100% of the time, and when I do I will update. Update 4/16/2019: Seller had reached out to me in order to resolve my issue, I switched HDMI cables as they had suggested. Still doesn't work, however the problem may be an underlying issue with my MacBook refusing to cooperate with my monitor (LG 25UM58-P); so I cannot blame the seller. All in all, good product, does what it needs to and doesn't get hot as others suggested, then again I only have an HDMI cable, keyboard, and mouse hooked up. I believe it may overheat when transferring data to and from a flash drive/hard drive. ... show more

    • Gets the job done and looks great but has some quirks.
This has all the right plugs on it and gets the job done! However, it gets very very hot with only 1 usb flash drive plugged into it causing it to drain your laptop battery. I am using it with a maxed out 2017 MacBook Pro 13" with Touch Bar. Also the description does say this but its still worth mentioning that it only supports 4K HDMI at 30 fps. Sadly not 60 fps. Not an issue for me since I only use a 1080p monitor but would be a deal breaker otherwise. Another odd bug with this is anytime you plug multiple things into it you must eject all before unplugging anything. This is a shame because if you have an SD card, a monitor, and a usb drive plugged into it and simply take out the SD card when your done with it, then the connection to every other thing temporarily cuts out for a second. The monitor goes black just for a second and if you were transferring files to your usb then it will be interrupted and a warning will come up on your Mac saying "Disk Not Ejected Properly". This can be very frustrating and can cause glitches if it was in the middle of a time machine backup. ... show more

    • Descent But Could Have Been Better.
On 11th April, 2018: Pros: 1. I mostly like this hub just because of the USB Ports and HDMI. 2. The built quality is good and I just love the wire connection because of more room and not accidentally breaking the port. Cons: 1. The hub goes lava hot while copying and pasting big files from the MacBook to different drives connected and I'm kind of worried about it. (I'm Really Worried and Might Return This Considering Only This Factor) 2. For some reason, the SD-Card Slot does not work. Definitely, as I've have tried 3-4 cards which are working fine on other system but doesn't appear while connected with this hub. Otherwise, it works fine to show and carry all the work necessary but not really happy with the SD-Card Reading Issue and Heating. ... show more

The two USB ports on this hub are placed too close in proximity to each other. If you need to plug in two flash drives simultaneously into both ports (such as if you are trying to transfer files from one flash drive to another), both flash drives will not fit on the hub at the same time. The limited spacing between the USB ports permits you to use only one flash drive at a time. Because of this design flaw, I had to slowly and inefficiently copy the files I needed from one flash drive onto my Macbook, unplug it, stick the second flash drive in, and move the files from my laptop into the second flash drive. And since my Macbook has limited memory storage capacity (hence the reason I need flash drives and this hub in the first place), I had to repeat this process 3x in order to copy over all the files I needed to transfer to the second flash drive. The process was very time consuming and I wish the hub was designed in a way that the USB ports were put on opposite sides of the hub instead of right next to each other. This is only an issue if you are using two flash drives. If you want to plug in one flash drive and maybe a wireless mouse or any other smaller USB, the smaller USB should be thin enough to fit right next to the flash drive without any issues. As other reviewers have mentioned, I've also noticed that this hub becomes very hot after a while which is a bit worrisome. ... show more
