The construction of this cable seems very nice and I don't have any questions about durability after owning it for a couple of days. I did notice, however, that no speed rating was listed on this cable so I figured I'd test it out. The attached screenshot is a disk benchmark I did on an external NVME drive that will top out at 1000+ MB/s at full speed. You can see that the top speed for this particular cable is about 44 MB/s, which is right about the theoretical speed of USB 2.0. This appears to be a USB 2.0 cable in terms of data transfer speed. ... show more

I purchased this cable last year to charge our Google Pixel mobile phones. About 8 months later, we were having issues where it would stop charging, and when you moved the phone w/ the cable still plugged in, it would start/stop charging again. If you laid the phone down just right, you might get it to charge for a bit longer. Well, Amazon had deemed the return period as closed, so I contacted Anker directly. It was as simple as going to their website under Support and filling out a simple warranty claim form. The response was prompt, and they shipped me a brand new replacement, which has been working great. So many kudos to Anker's customer service and for backing up the products they put out!!! My understanding of the three generations of PowerLine cables is: PowerLine v1 is flexible and 3.5 mm in diameter, and no durability issues I could see over a year of regular use. PowerLine II is more durable than v1, but notably thicker at 3.8 mm diameter. PowerLine III is a tiny bit thinner than v1 at 3.4 mm, and durable like II... but also after purchasing I see it's a bit stiffer and more easily kinked than v1. Still a great product! ... show more

I bought this to replace my mother's horrible charging cables for her car. Combined with a Type-c rapid charge adapter, she told me this whole setup changed everything for her. Adheres to power distribution standards and is extremely durable. A month in I've shared the same cable with her and it's worth the cost. Get a proper charger or use this over a known good USB 3.1 interface and it'll work reliably. I tested data transfer rates as well and it met expectations. Edit: my original review was July 28, 2020. I am now posting my review October 2022 update. This cable is still operating perfectly in my mother's car and I have to borrow her car more than I care to admit. USB PD standards still appear to hold up fine and I have zero issue with the connector ends being loose or having disconnections, which tends to be common with daily use on other connectors. I recommend this product for charging. I have not benchmarked data transfer speeds. ... show more

    • Just What my Power Bank Needed

This Anker 1 ft. 60 W USB-C cable has allowed my slightly older power bank to charge my more recently acquired tablet computer. I have an OT-PW259 power bank that has USB A and USB-C outputs and came with "simple" cables. When I finally bought a USB-C moderate-power device (a tablet computer), I found the "simple" USB-C cable that came with the power bank rejected by the tablet computer: no charging, not even any reaction. The power bank didn't even wake up when connected to the tablet. Yes, the power bank's simple USB-C cable is "OK": it allows charging of simpler devices via adapters, just not USB Power Delivery (PD) devices. This Anker cable, on the other hand, provides proper recognition. Using it to connect power bank to tablet wakes the power bank and charges the tablet. Et voila! Further, If I misuse the Anker cable to connect the merely 18 W power bank to a high-power (45 W) computer, the power bank wakes and the devices properly negotiate no charging: the poor power bank just wouldn't be able to keep up. In addition to doing its USB-C PD job, the Anker cable comes with a small Velcro or Velcro-like keeper strap in case of need, a nice touch. ... show more

I have a number of different USB C cables from Anker, but got this 10 ft cable because sometimes you just need a really long cable. It works great, but it is noticeably stiffer and has more memory than the 6 ft Powerline III cables, including the 100w version. I'm assuming that they had to increase the gauge of the wiring for the additional length. ... show more

This cable did not work in any of my 45-60 watt PD chargers for my Dell 9370 XPS13. The laptop did not even recognize it. My many other cables, from 3' to 10' all worked fine with the same chargers and laptop, including (2) Anker PD chargers. I just needed a 3' white cable for this particular location. Premium price yet it failed out of the box. It was clearly not 100% end-to-end tested, which is usually the case with even cheaply made cables. Not at all impressed. Back to Choetech, Aukey, and other misc. brand cables. Fortunately, Amazon offered a no-return, instant credit to my account, so I don't need to bother mailing it back, and can just shop for something else. ... show more
