Recently got a 2019 MBP 13.3" w/touchbar. At first I really didn't like the idea of having to get adapters and such to be able to do basic things with such an expensive laptop, but it is pretty convenient to carry one thing that can give me so much functionality. I use to carry around a usb hub and a network adapter and now I just have to carry this one adapter. And if I remember correctly, this cost less than the old lightning 2 network adapter I had. I use this one like a dock at home. I plug one thing in and it gets power, display turns on, network connects, local USB devices attach, it's nice. You can also plug a USB hub into one of the USB ports, not sure why it wouldn't would, but I use that to attach my keyboard and mouse (soon to be replaced with a touchpad). I've had this device for four weeks now. I work 8 hour days with it. Some days it works okay, and on other days it temporarily loses its connection once or twice an hour, sometimes four times an hour. Let's spell out what that means. For my JABRA USB device (speaker+microphone), a temporarily lost connection means that audio playback will switch to a different device for a moment then switch back to the JABRA. Or sometimes my laptop will just forget about the JABRA and I'll have to disconnect them reconnect it myself. For my ethernet cable, a temporarily lost connection means that my VPN software (Cisco AnyConnect) freaks out, and takes ages to reconnect. Some of the particular software I use for work crashes upon a lost connection, which isn't fun. This is all with a Macbook Pro 2018 model. I've come to loathe this MOKiN device. I'm going to go back to my Apple official HDMI+USBC splitter, plus a powered USB hub, plus an ethernet dongle. That was ugly and had a lot more cords and needed power, but at least it didn't flake out. ... show more

I have a number of USB C hubs to use with a MacBook Air and numerous recent Dell notebooks. I have so many hubs because several have had heat problems, they get hot when used, and this concerns me. But this MOKiN USB C hub does not have this issue, and it performs well. It was immediately recognised on both Mac and PC, the Ethernet output is very fast, USB transfers work well, and the USB C pass through is a big plus for me. This was the feature I wanted in a new hub so that a PC with only one USB C port I still have one available with this hub. I initially used it to pass power out, but have since connected other USB C devices. The HDMI Output works as advertised, the only feature this hub is missing is Display Port output (without VGA as I have no need for that). Finding a hub with one or more Display port output is my next search (reasonably priced). But this USB C hub is one of the best for the price. ... show more

The Ethernet port does not appear to work with my MacBook Pro, but I already had a separate USB-C dongle for Ethernet that I now have room for since I was able to move one HDMI cable (to monitor), a USB-A cable (to a USB switch/hub), and the MacBook’s power supply USB-C to this single, all of which appear to be working great shortly after initial setup. ... show more

The hub unit is as expected. What wasn't expected was the new 13" MacBook Pro not having standard USB ports. Not the fault of the Adapter Hub seller, I'm sure they're taking full advantage of this. My fault completely for thinking that the MacBook Pro I recently purchased would be at least as good as the eight year old one that just died. I was shocked to discover I had to order this in order to be fully operational again. ... show more
