I bought this and for around $20.00 it is worth it. It has an all metal body, is compact, and feels rock solid. It has a push button for switching between computers. It has a nice feel and a solid click when pressed. It's pretty much self explanatory for hook up. Didn't have any issue at all getting it to work; including with a Raspberry Pi 3 or 4. It has 4 USB in the front. It's perfect for a tight spot as it is about 4.5" (L) x 2.5" (W) x 1.5" (H). You may want to get some cheap stick on feet pads for it. I used a piece of excess stick on pad from a monitor arm mount. You could also probably Velcro it to something else pretty easily. I like it and it is useful for what I need. I didn't need tech support, so I didn't rate it. I also didn't rate "Camera Quality" because it isn't a camera and that is dumb. ... show more

This switch was a great deal and does just what I need: share a monitor, keyboard, and mouse between a laptop and desktop. It does allow for the laptop display to be extended (not just duplicated) on the external monitor, too.

I have had my switcher (what they mark as the USB 1.1 version) for less than 6 months, and it's failing. I really liked its compact size and simple controls, but unfortunately the lack of external power has made first my conference phone and now my keyboard and mouse transmitter function intermittently. I spend 3-5 hours per day on Zoom; I cannot have my switcher cut out in the middle of a meeting. I'm going to try the USB 3.0 version because it at least provides a way to plug in extra power via a USB cable (not provided). I'm using this switch with two Windows PC's, one of which is always on while running a Plex media server. I have a wireless mouse/keyboard plugged into a USB port. After a month of usage, I've had no issues with it. My monitor only has VGA and DVI connections so I knew up front I would need an HDMI to DVI adapter which I also purchased from Amazon. Introducing this adapter into the configuration has not been a problem. As I recall, I made the video connections first and it didn't appear to be working but when I connected the USB to the computer, everything was good. No problems switching and I really haven't observed the slowness some others reviewers have reported. In a different setup, I have a video switch only and a USB switch only. On this reviewed device, I like where the switch button and indicator light are located much better. ... show more

This is the first switch that does what I expected it to do. I can have both computers on and simply switch between the two. Finally! My last switch worked, but I could only have one computer on at a time to see the monitor. At least it had saved me from unplugging the monitor. That was ok, but still not what I wanted.
